10. Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature.

Wow just wow. the Georgia Guidestones... unbelievable so how do you reduce and maintain a populations of 500,000,000 without killing a lot of people? Hmmmm???

A one child policy for a few generations. You obviously didn't read through the rest of the thread, or you would of seen an extrapolation of what I meant.

Grow a new planet from collected asteroid matter which is 500 times the current one, and fill it completely with lush vegetation, lakes, and low mountains. Allow only helpful technology, and zap those off the planet who plan to undertake any of the well-outlined "higher" experiments - and deal with them in an enlightened fashion by the ruling council - who do not partake in planet concerns otherwise. Part of the ruling council is also to disintegrate ill control over others from rulers, as the rulers will act in the service of the people and are gifted some lesser ability to ensure the populace does not greatly afflict one other. Besides these basic controls, the world operates as a highly educated, ascetic society who promote virtue over vice, sharing, violence only as sport, ecological preservation and development, and independant retreat sanctioned as normal behavior - the wilderness being so vast that most would care to explore over congregate.

Ah so were back to force right away so how you going to enforce this one child policy? And why is it even necassary when the human race only lives about 15% of the land mass anyway? Or is this just more environmental pseudo science BS?

It could start with teaching kids life-skills and lateral thinking. We might physically take up only 15% of landmass (space wise), but do you think that only 20%(~) of the worlds rainforests still existing is cool? Have a look at some of the stats here www.worldometers.info, and tell me its sustainable. Maybe if we terraformed all the deserts we could support a larger population, but for what purpose beyond multiplying.

We should all be trying to better our fellow man, and ourselves. Some remain too glued to egoistic archaic redundant ideas and philosophy, and because greed persists - society stagnates.

And I don't think we should be learning to live on another planet, until we learned to live on this one.

Well lets see we've only taken up 15% of the land mass in however many thousands of years so we still have 85% of the land mass free. Uh let me see yes I think that is sustainable for at least another 30,000 years.

As for the rain forests, not that I am for clear cutting them however we have more trees today on the earth then we did a hundred years ago. And since at least half of the oxygen on earth comes from cyanobacteria and plankton in the ocean I am not as worried about it as you are. I don't think the earth is quite a fragile as you think although I do think we should be good stewards of our resources. However I see no correlation here with a need to reduce the population. The problem is not over population the problem is economic terrorism by the politically connected and elite. They are the ones who want a reduced population so it is easier to manage the slaves on the plantation known as earth because that is how they see it.

2nd. Cover the entire world inside and out lol and pick a male and femal from each ethnic background and religion and place them on 1 GLOBAL COUNCEL. This gives everyone on the EATH A CHANCE TO BE HEARD AND A CHANCE TO REQUEST WHAT IS NEEDED PER LOCATION.

3rd. Eliminate all money and each council will know what everyone within their location needs to strive and stay up with the advancing world making every location grow on the same level DESTROYING THE THOUGHT OF A 3RD WORLD.

4th. Any being that attempts to strive at becomming better then the next on a negative level shall go infront of the entire councel for the to decide their fate that doesnt have to be death.

In a word nanotech. remove the motive for war, nanotech woilx bring about a postscarcity socity meaning everyond coulx have anything hence no power or resources to fight over. there would be no conflict only compatition as to who can bdst use the tech and/or develop it. just stick it out for a few more decades in this capitalist hellhole before freedom, peace and the universe to explore

There is no way to stop war.

War is a natural state for humankind to be in. For all of those who love to quote numbers and statistics, the evidence is readily available in any history book (or any religious text, such as the bible, where war is condoned).

The folly is in believing that man has ever been anything but war like.

I'll take an unpopular stance here and propose a question. How can we know that being warlike has not sustained the species in some meaningful way? How can we know that we should embrace kindness and expel cruelty since we know very little of our true purpose and context in the larger universe?

I raised a son. The first thing he did when he could pick up a stick on his own was to try to put a point on it. It's in-arguably innate.
