I don't want to see my children's roller coaster fly off the track before mine does... and that's a fear I'm just going to have to face as a parent... And God is loving the fact that he putting me through the same fears that I gave my parents. My parents worried about me all the time... and I'm now realizing why.

Concern is good for a parent to have, speaking as a fellow parent. Remember our children are going to be a reflection of ourselves (as you've said you are of yours) so if you do not want your child to fear, you're going to need to address those fears yourself. When you do, your children will not only see your strength but acquire it themselves.

But take Love for example... we have that expression it's better to have Loved and Lost than to have never Loved at all.... Well when you lose that loved one it's the worst feeling in the world... and my children are so precious that it scares the holy hell out of me.

Yeah, I don't like that cliché and find it patronizing to us that have to deal with real situations.

I've never really had anyone close to me die... I had a few relatives pass away in their "old age" but I've never had someone like a close childhood friend pass away... or a close family member... or like I said... even a child... I know others who have faced this horrible feeling and I don't know how they cope.

Some things you cannot prepare for. Some things you merely have to grow through. You have seen others cope though, so you know that it is possible.

Do as you need to, but I think you've alluded to the answer several times your posts. You'd talked about praying to God, but somehow feel the line is damaged or broken? This is what I'd really like to help with.
Or maybe I should just learn how take one day at a time.

But my question... regardless of how I feel... is who isn't a little fearful in 2010? Look at all the $hit that's happening in the world. Maybe my feelings on certain subjects could be natural... but overall I do need to make changes in my life.

"its just a ride..." you shouldnt have fear. the world is strange and as much as we dont have much control... we could. it comes down to how much you want to be involved. if you fear the future and possibilities of things happenin beyond your control, either accept it or put yourself in a position to have control. life is what we make it. make it happen or let it happen to you.

I suffer from what I would call chronic anxiety. I have had long bouts where it is absolutely gone. I have now observed that second hand smoke from marijuana and also meth-amphetamines causes severe spikes in this anxiety. If you have a neighbor that uses either it can be a direct cause of your anxiety.

I use meditation and exercise to lessen the impact of this anxiety and to even remove it totally at times. When I was meditating every night for several months my fears were totally gone! I have now experimented and gone without meditating for a little over 3 weeks. There is some residual change in my personality and the fear is a lot less than it has been in times past. I meditated last night and I am still today suffering a bit. My life has somewhat blown up in the past month with a close friend that recently went into the ICU and I manage their care. I use hemisphere synchronization as a tool to help guide my meditation but in using it I give my fears over to God instead of just generically releasing my fear and also pray to him while using this tool.

Here are the downloads if you are interested with special care and repeated use of the fourth one for what you have in mind:

Just so you know a few months ago someone threatened to run me over on a crosswalk with the white lit to walk light on and I had absolutely no fear during this incident so I know this works. Also I can trigger a pineal response at times without using the audio and thus relieve my fears.

Caution to note: If lights seem brighter than usual or you develop headaches then STOP using this immediately. It has been known to cause migraines in some individuals.

For me though it has been a very beneficial tool but unfortunately it seems that I am somewhat tethered to it. I was hoping I would be able to create the meditative response without the audio and on occasion this does happen but not always as planned or on cue.

Sounds to me like you worry about things WAY to much...you take life WAY to seriously and your thoughts are constantly fearful and depressive in nature...and you become fixed and obsessed with these thoughts and feelings, knowing you and your whole family could die at a moments notice a million different ways. It is how you are wired though, and it will be hard to fully suppress this feeling of constant fear...

Just don't take life and experience for granted, it starts with a morning where you wake up into the world, and you realize you're going to embrace the day, enjoy the company of friends, enjoy the warmth of the Sun on your skin...don't worry about petty things...it is this day that you realize life doesn't need to be so serious, material objects don't need so much importance attached to them...you will have started living life, instead of fearing life...

You've been taught your whole life that work is of utmost importance. School taught us that if we didn't complete our work, we would be punished because work is VERY important... we get taught that challenging a system is never a good idea, and the moment we break any of the systems rules we can be severely punished, because it's VERY important to be a good little sheeple following along, and understanding how important it is that you follow along and do your work...you place high amounts of importance on a whole heap of things that you don't need to worry about...

Wake up my friend...life is merely a game, and we are the players...I guess you could say TPTB are the big ol' bosses of this game...and if there is one thing of true importance in this life, and worth taking seriously, it's the threat that TPTB pose to the freedoms of the human species.

P.S. I just wanted to say, a lot of people seem to be on edge lately. There was actually a thread on it recently...this "angst" you feel is apparently a mutual feeling among many. I can say that I feel a bit of tension in the air lately, but it could be due to a whole array of things...only time will tell, but if I'm being totally honest with you, I do believe something of significance will happen around 2012, and this is perhaps why you worry about your children so much...but like others have stated, there's no point worrying about things we cannot change...you can only hope there is an afterlife...and if there isn't, and you die...well, too bad, so sad, it was only a game anyway...it's not so serious, it's not the end of the world...you're dead, so what, everything must come to an end, accept it. New life will come to be, and it will die...in an infinite cycle of life and death...energy and absence...light and dark...sleep and wake...balance...

Why focus so much on the body and deeds? Do you really believe that you haven't done enough and your body is to blame? Yes be healthy, but do so for the right reasons.

maybe they gave her the medication because as QUALIFIED specialists they understand the changes that happens in a womans mind when a miscarriage happens...if you are a man, or a woman who has never been through such a trauma, you probably will not understand.
Yes it is normal to grieve, but you cannot "just move on" or "get over it" because there are chemical changes that happen to the body.

back on topic:

you are not the only one who feels this way for sure. Life is hard, and constantly deals out #ty cards... you just need to transform those cards into strategic play cards and use what you got to get better next time.
Focus on whats "in front" of you..and try to rid your mind from this website, the internet in general, tv, and mass media like newspapers as well.
Goodluck!

I like martial arts (Chinese Wushu specifically), but it never solved any mental or spiritual problems. Good tension release and fitness, but that's all they rightfully advertise to offer.

Did I mention burying one's head in the sand isn't a solution to our problems? If not, I meant to.

Working for a healthcare company, I can say many medications do more harm than good. Read the full label and consider yourself fortunate if you have not side-effects or dependencies. I've considered going into Pharmacology, not sure I will, but it is a fascinating study. My hope is some day we'll have "1 shot fixes" for physical problems without dependencies or side-effects. Meds do not, however, fix our spiritual problems.

I'm no genius, but the best advice I could give you is to stop thinking about all the negatives you stated.

If you constantly think of all the bad and negativity you'll feel it, you'll think about it and hopefully it won't drive you nuts.

Studies have shown that clinically depressed people actually have a more realistic viewpoint of the world. There is a reason that since the beginning of man, we have used mind altering substances in one form or another. Life is difficult, some turn to a chemical to alter their current perception others turn to religion to hold on to the belief that there is something better than this. Everything you mention is a fear all of us have in some form or another. The most successful advice I ever received is to stay in the present, it is the only thing you can control. Easier said than done. I have been through many "traumatic" experiences in life, including life threatening injuries, loss of loved ones, etc. What you will find is that your actual experience during/after these events is a lot less intense than your fears of what would happen if they occurred. When I tell people that I was shot, I always get the question of did it hurt and I can see the fear in their eyes thinking of how it must have felt. I sure am glad it wasn't as bad as they think it would be.

First post here. I felt this was worth posting too.

I think all of us have had this at some point in their lives.

Please don't use drugs, all of those mentioned can have horrible long term effects. I could tell you horror story after horror story and you don't want long term effects from what could be a short lived problem.

May I suggest robust exercise, running, tennis, raking the yard, anything that exerts your physical body. They call it a runners high for a reason, it gives you a sense of well being and it is completely natural.

I have a member of my family that struggles with strong fear from time to time, and this is what I have told her. She told me it helped her a lot.

I think all fear is based on the fact that we don't feel loved or worthy and we are all worthy, sometimes we just don't think we are. Fear breeds jealousy and all sorts of bad things that just manifest itself more and makes things worse.

Fear is just that little 4 inch red devil sitting on your shoulder that wants you to fail, Thump his @ss off. Just Thump Him Off.

Try to smile, every time you visually thump him off. Love, truly love and be the best you can be, share that love but, Every time you see him jump on your back, visualize his little evil butt and thump him off.

We can never tell what tomorrow will bring, and why worry because you really can't change anything anyway.

Don't be so hard on yourself, try to find life's simple pleasures, listening to crickets, smelling fresh cut grass, your favorite peaceful music, buying the bubble gum you liked as a kid, whatever floats your boat. Think about, and participate in things that make you happy.

There is no doubt in my mind we are all here for some purpose and that little devil just gets in the way.

We are all human, we make mistakes, we just have to do the best we can.

And remember, just

THUMP HIS @SS OFF.

(I sure hope I am within the rules as I think I might like to hang around for a while.)

www.youtube.com...

have been listening to a lot of byron katie lately and wanted to share. if it resonates, what she has to say about the mind and our thoughts and feelings is very powerful.

fear is not something that we have to accept as a part of life. it is not who you are.

I could have written your OP myself. Everything you stated I have experienced and I know the agony you have to live with.

Anxiety is not only an emotional experience, the brain also establishes patterns for what you feel and the chemistry of your brain will change, and actually perpetuate the anxiety. Then, the physical symptoms will follow...nausea, the unrelening dread, increased heartrate, asthma, etc. I have them all.

I am not one who abdicates turning to medications by any means. I believe a healthy approach with vitamins, exercise, meditation, self reflection are all ways that should be utilized first. For me, these practices help. But they haven't been able to eradicate my anxiety fully. In my case, part of it is life situation, and the other part of it is heriditary (both my parents suffered from anxiety). I am a divorced single mom supporting 3 children on my own, am in school studying nursing, work, and I have lot on my shoulders. Not to mention I lost everything in Katrina and had to start over mid life. So I think I am qualified to comment on anxiety.

I have tried a few medications, and most didn't work. But one did. Buspar. It is non addicting. After one week on Buspar, my anxiety eased. After one month, I couldn't believe how much better I felt. There are side effects, and I have had to decrease my dosage so I can tolerate it better. But it's made a huge difference in relieving me of my anxiety, which at times seemed so bad I thought maybe death was my only way to feel better. My focus, memory and concentration have improved a great deal.

What I am trying to say is anxiety is both chemical and situational. There are some things you can change in your life that you have control over and some you can't. You sound like you are doing good as far as your life situation is concerned. Maybe give medication a try. I was reluctant, but I am glad I did, I have relief now and I can enjoy my kids and my life, before the medication I couldn't. My life situation will get better in time, and I will eventually wean myself off of this. If the anxiety comes back, I just have to stay on it. No big deal. Life is worth it.

I truly hope you find relief soon.

I could say anything but it won't help you.

Your fear is caused by something. It is mentioned before you should at least talk to a professional about it. Believe me only talking it away helps a bit. Hypnoses could be a good way to find what's causing your fear.

Usually an event is forgotten .No not forgotten but suppressed. Releasing it could make night turn to day.

The meditation advice. Go for it ! Learn about the chakras even when you're a novice you can definitely benefit from the energies you learn are there and over time you can even apply them one way or another.

My first experience where I had a meeting with a friend of a friend. I was sceptical but my previous experiences tell me there is more to life. It was the first time I've looked for some guidance and after 2 hours I was left with an extraordinary uncontrollable feeling of joy. It lasted for 3 weeks.
Do you know how annoying you get being happy all the time ? People really start to get mad at you. But I didn't matter . I was happy.

Please ? Just try it.

Good luck.

Do what I did.......move to the coast....someplace quiet but make sure its on a flight path.......rural places on flight paths aren't targets.......Simple job and a simple life....no worries. Plus your kids would benifit from not being in the centre of the PTB plan to cut down the populous through such things as water cleaning activities for the good of the people(BS) thats just one method.
Plus you're also off the radar as it were, from other interested parties, not mentioning who but since I moved I haven't had ANY mysterious wake ups/dreams reguarding off world visitors(I know why people that dream of certain things are bound to be interesting, a handy genetic trait to add to your gene pool).

Forgetting the last topic unless it is a concern go find a nice spot in the country...grow your own food as best you can. If its mass produced clean it....if it comes from your tap, filter it that includes water you boil FILTER!... Low fat doesn't mean its good for you Transfats kill so do sweetners etc. etc. etc. Have the normal food just be More active. Yep and Meditation very good for the soul. A simple life means you're off radar. Worries kinda disappear for the most part.

Do it for abouth ten min, then go do something alse with your kids or whatever. If there is no mountains by your place imagine one in your mind and do the same thing.
