Across the years, there have been numerous sayings/catch phrases people have used. Recently, i have noticed a pattern of these coming true. For example...

A black man will be president when pigs fly!

Obama becomes president and 4 months later... Swine Flu!!!

The Saints will win the Super Bowl when hell freezes over

The Saints won and a week later DC gets slammed with the biggest snowstorms ever.

----------------
I've heard many others, those are just a few.

What do you guys think, do the Logos controlling the universe have a sense of humor? Feel free to add any you might think of...

I think it has a very odd and often ironic sense of humour.

Just look at the bloke who won a Darwin Award because he was in an office at the top of a very high tower block and he was banging on about how great/tough the floor to ceiling windows were and to prove his point he took a run at one, hit it and went straight through and fell to his death.

I love it!!

You'll find here at ATS, though, there are those that have no sense of humour at all.

Question is: What universe are they frrom?

OH YES IT DOES! Some of the horrific things that I've seen..you have to either laugh or cry. After a while, I got sick of crying and desided to laugh. Kind of a survival skill...well honed gallows humour. Things are SO absurd all one can do is laugh. Raise your vibration my children and LAUGH! Did you hear the one about the condemed man as he stepped upon the gallows trap door? He looks down at the trap door and says to the hangman..."is this thing safe".

Death by lethal injection...do they rub your arm with alcohol before they start the IV?

Haha yeah of course it does.

And if we remember that WE are the universe too. Then yeah it sure does have a sense of humor.

Funny thing is that they do use alcohol before injecting the needle

Hahahaha

Good thread

I agree, there does seem to be a universal sense of humor underlying those little meaningful coincidences that so often crop up in life.

I just heard a good one on Comedy, not sure who he was though ...

Canada should donate Saskatchewan to the States, for free, as a practical joke. Just imagine what the new maps would look like to the world!

Irony plays a massive part in the universe for some reason. Its why teh secret and positive thinking does not work.

Look at africa and india, for that.

Irony is the number 1 factor in this universe i find.

the U-n-I-verse definitely has a sense of humor!

Do sentient beings have a sense of humor?
are those/we sentient beings part of the u-n-i-verse?
since we are a part of, not apart from..
yes, the Universe has sense of humor indefinitely. lol

(and a rather odd one at times, but funny all the same.)

i just envisioned the Universe as a Buddha type being , jolly and huge,
made of galaxies and stars..
laughing uncontrollably with a great smile on Its face.

cool thread. thanks

A sense of humour is something that we humans perceive in each other.

The universe cannot have a sense of humour, only it's inhabitants.

Simple.

Everytime I hear something like this - arguments of Karma are very similar - I immediately think of the billions of starving and impoverished people all over the world.

In more affluent societies, you often hear things like -
"yes, the universe has a sense of humor"
or,
"what goes around comes around, universal karma at work"

There is good in the world because it is more powerful than evil. But evil is far more ambitious. While the universe is being humorous, I think most people are too busy trying to find food than to listen. And karma does not exist, my proof is George H Bush.

That said.... I'm from the burbs. Just today I was chugging coffee, then an hour later see an article saying "Coffee is healthy for you after all". I'm guilty of finding humor in life =)
