Quick question - how to keep my background from repeating?

How can I keep my background from repeating? I see lots of other peoples not repeat like mine is right now, here is an example of what I want mine to look like Example - look at phi1318's background

How do I do that? I know I'm probably being an idiot here, but I know it is a quick answer, so please help... I just want my new alien picture with the stargate to be the background and no repeating... that's all!

Make the size of the background about 167x1500 (or even longer)

So just make the background image those dimensions, but under the end of my actual "picture" of the alien and stuff, just make it the same color as my background or whatever? You get what I'm asking?

I swear this is what I did before but it kept making every post I made as long as I made the image... guess I was doing that with the avatar lol but thanks again for reminding me what to do

Just add lots of colour at the end like he did.
