I think it's safe to say that research into Human-Animal interbreeding, DNA splicing and suchlike has been going on for a number of years. Josef Mengele, Hitler's ruthless Nazi concentration camp doctor tried impregnating Female prisoners with Canine semen. That is one of the more innocent practices that that Evil Man undertook.

People are sick. Experimentation with what already is is one thing. Trying to modify it (living organisms) is a whole different level.
