It's about 95% done I would say.

They are working on some search integration I believe and polishing the final product.

I expect a June 1st release...

If it's not too late, I'd like to add my quick .02

I really like:

  • Real-time
  • Thread sort
  • more obvious copyright notice on each post
  • Poster dropdown links (love this)
  • Merge BTS/ATS

Add me in the "not too hip on the green" group ;-)

Hope / Wishlist

  • Fast load time
  • would like to see the Member Tools area revamped. It's a bit clunky & confusing.
  • Eliminate multiple registrations/log-ins to access different functions/subdomains. eg media portal, my pictures etc. Each registration does say "registering will give you access to all features on our site" ;-)
  • Ability to "digg" etc individual posts
  • Revamped, more intuitive & cohesive Help Section.
  • looking forward to better search integration
  • EDIT to add: ability to mark/watch /be notified of replies.

I like it! Thanks for all your dedication!

There's a seemingly impossible list of "little" items we're working through. The HTML5/CSS/semantic structure of the new ATS 2010 is so significantly different than what you're using now, the details really do contain "the devil."

Most of the staff has been using the 2010 site for some time now, and it's actually very close to final release status. Some of the remaining details deal with how search engines index the new structure, dealing with incomplete BBcode assignments in the user-generated posts (there's lots of variables), and running down a list of minor display issues with some browsers and mobile access.

Given the current state, we could conceivably launch tomorrow, but we're making sure everything is solid before we pull the trigger.

lol nice huge flashing ad banner that even in the video shows the browser lag and 'hiccup' for a second as you move the mouse to the menu.

My wish list:

No animated avatars. While some don't, others slow the page down.

A limit of lesser characters one may use in the username. (Some are just too long, and they throw off my "My ATS" and otherwise annoy me.) You don't need a sentence for your username.

Ability to link to a profile page from the list of names of "who's here".

So there you have it. Otherwise, I'm good.

Hi You all hard working people.

I was wondering how it is going with the 2010 thingy.

I know , I know...

you are all probably getting sick and tired of me asking...

But... It's just.

First this was said:

And for those who've been asking, yes, we will indeed pre-announce the exact moment in time when we cut-over from the old ATS, to the new ATS 2010 site design. It will most likely be on a Monday morning (EST) before the end of April... early May at the latest.

And then this:

Given the current state, we could conceivably launch tomorrow, but we're making sure everything is solid before we pull the trigger.

Now Really, I don't want to push you all or anything... But, I've been on the edge of my seat ever since the first announcement. I quit holding my breath a while ago. My mom said blue didn't mix good with the color of my eyes...

It is devastating for my health. I'm in a constant state of enthusiasm... Sweaty hands elevated heartbeat. This can't be good for me.

Please........? Can someone whisper a date ?

Or maybe uhm... Moderator status so I can try it out.
I'll be good .

I can offer a bribe
But lets talk about that by U2U.

I would have tried blackmail but I couldn't find anything, You bunch of goody two shoes, you.

Seriously. Please tell...?

Yes... my hair is nearly gone.

The most significant aspect of the redesign is a transition from a old-style "Tables" layout of the core HTML to one of CSS positioning of all content. As it turns out, this is significantly harder than I originally thought as there are hundreds of "broken" thread pages for a variety of reasons... all of which are proving much harder to identify and correct than I had originally thought.

The good news... it's easily 98.5% complete (most staff are using it every day now), however, that last 1.5% is a real problem.

Thanks for the update! Designing any website with CSS layout is tricky enough let alone migrating one. Most users of the internet do not under stand that CSS does not play well from one browser or operating system to another. I've often told my husband I think a non standard CSS system is one big huge conspiracy to keep web developers on their toes and up late at night.

Good luck to the site developers (and designers). We await the unveiling of your hard work!!!

I will cross my fingers and beam some supporting energy rays your way.

I'll be quite as a mouse as of now.

Good luck.
