Reminds me of the plane scene in Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanomo Bay.

Maybe he should invest in those smokeless cigs they keep talking about.

I really don't know where to start with this.
The MSM sold the public another high rating, fear mongering pack of lies.
And we bought it.
I think the questions we should be asking are:
Was our government aware a diplomat was on this flight ?
Was the flight crew aware a diplomat was on this flight ?
Was there a smoke detector in the bathroom ?
Was this diplomat traveling alone ?
After this man was arrested why were the other passenger isolated and detained ?
And the big question is : Why weren't fighters dispatched as quickly on 9/11 ?

The MSM did their job , the public responded as expected and the important questions will not be asked.

People of privilege ie. Actors, pro Athletes, politicians, the very wealthy and diplomats believe they are better than the common people and are therefore above the law.
Which in most cases THEY ARE.
So why is everyone suprised ? As the MSM continues to stirs discontent !

Actually, there were. A couple of Phantom fighter jets escorted the plane into the airport.

The question, for me, is: What if the man actually was a terrorist? What would the jets do? Shoot down the plane, and kill hundreds of innocent people?

And what if the plane actually was hijacked and headed toward a building, then what? Still, hundreds of innocent lives would be lost, whether the plane was shot down or not.

I would hate to be the president making that call.

In my opinion, the jets were only there for show, to prove they were serious and maybe to scare the terrorist a little.

BTW: As a smoker, I can affirm that not being able to smoke during a long flight can be agony. The guy was stupid to try to smoke in the restroom, but once (before 9/11) I did that too. Dumb, but I did.

I think the poster was saying that fighters were dispatched quickly in this case, so where were they on 9/11.

FOX news just stated he was on his way to Denver to visit a jailed Al-Qieda operative

You know, I don't know if I buy into the terrorism angle of this. I mean, think about it. There are about a million different, better ways and locations to deliver a bomb for maximum damage.

Why the fixation with airplanes after the TSA got all NAZI? If anything that would be the last target on the list.

Yes, on rereading the post I realize I got the question wrong. I thought it was asking why they weren't sent.

Apologies.

I've often thought about that, but in the context of what if I had to make that decision?

Say you have a hijacked plane headed towards the White House and you have seconds to decide, what do you do?

I would not want to be the one making such a decision. Under the right conditions they would not have a choice.

Time for a new movie. "The Man With One Smoking Shoe".

Two reasons I'd think. To placate the scared masses by instilling a sense of false security and to make us believe they have matters under control. Or, even simpler, to shut us the heck up.

BZZZZTTT! WRONG!

I took the title DIRECTLY FROM the source article, as I usually do.

As far as what I knew and when I knew it, it was still attached via the umbilical cord when I posted it, that's how new it was.

I got *you* to read it. eh?
