It is easy for you to set back in your lazy-boy , with your game station and your computer and all the other amenities that you might possess , somewhere waaaaaaayyyyyy over there in the UK and call for a REVOLT over here in the US .

This is NOT the 1700's , this is much more complicated than a 'tea-party' .

I'm not sure what kind of Utopia you live in way over there , or how your 'system' works , but over here we have laws that we must abide by , otherwise we go to jail until they feel they have 'rehabilitated' us .

There are laws against advocating the overthrow of 'our' government . There are laws against inciting people to riot . There are laws against not paying taxes . There are laws against refusing to be 'part of the system' by refusing to have drivers licences , social-security numbers , etc .

We are a nation that is governed by laws . True , not all of those laws seem fair or legitimate to me , but as long as they are laws , then I am bound by law to obey them .

So , all of this nonsensical rhetoric about an open revolution is nothing more than that ... nonsense .

Last time I looked , your liberties and freedoms were curtailed more-so than ours over here . It appears to me that you guys are being watched by cameras from nearly every street-corner there in the UK .

As I have said in another thread , just this morning , I caution ALL ATS members from joining into this 'riot' mentallity that advocates the overthrow of your government(s) , or any type of 'revolution' .

You will contribute nothing at all to your 'cause' , whatever that may be , by wasting away in an 8x10 prison cell somewhere .

Choose your words wisely .

Are you suggesting you should be on your own? That our government and our tax dollars shouldn't protect you from say for example the robber who breaks into your house in the middle of the night and blows you away then has his way with your family and possessions?

Are you saying that there should be no security in the United States? I don't know about you, but I kinda like the idea that if something bad happens, I can call the police and have it handled.

Your idea would be great if there weren't bad people in the world. But unfortunately there are bad people in the world, people who will kill you for whatever they can. It has always been that way. But those who jerk themselves off to Thomas Jefferson think that they can take anything on. It rarely is the case, usually it's these people who are soon bitching why the police aren't more prompt to save their ass.

I haven't read the other responses yet, but in the context of some of the discussions around that Wikileaks video, if Americans decided to revolt against their government they would put themselves in the same position as the Iraqi civilians.

The US uses the biggest weaponry it has to kill small groups of "insurgents" in the midst of civilians, killing the civilians in the process and destroying their homes and businesses.

What US citizen in his right mind would be willing to put him/herself in that position. They know they would be up against the most powerful, unscrupulous, and indiscriminate killer in the world.

Its not a small thing you ask of them.

youve had your constitution basically ripped up

Could you give me an example of said ripping of the Constitution?

your freedoms are being taken away everyday

Really? Again...could you provide me some examples of some freedoms I have lost??? Because if I have lost freedoms...no one notified me.

your guns are being taken away

Not so much...I think the past year was a record sales year for the gun industry here. You know what I'm gonna ask next...yep...some examples would be nice.

isnt it in the constitution that you can revolt against the goverment?

*looking throogh constitution*.....nope...don't find that anywhere in the Constitution....sorry.

Please get over the ConStituTion people! I had a very, very nice Jewish Constitutional History Prof. in law School. He made it quite clear that the constitution is just the Magna Carte... These Nobles get these rights (States) and the King (Feds) get these rights and they threw in the bill o rights as a bone (the people get these rights).... and yes the patriot act ripped those to the marrow....

And soon it will be No State Left Behind and in Bankruptcy everything will be commercialized, corporatized and globalized... schools, state services everything...

The second amendment and 14+ million pea shooters wont change a thing.

But rumor among the US military has it that the greater majority will not support an out in the open march toward culminating global fascism and socialism. Probably because they all signed up to become professional imperial freedom loving patriots.

Dicey we're on the knifes edge... The US is the opposite of Russia and Germany, the military will not turn on the people and I hear that Nato and the UN do not have sufficient forces, also I hear that Germany and China are up and coming but not there yet... The cards have been played too soon, one might say that it was a premature 2012 ejaculation.

Hate to clue you in, but that was just a .50 caliber machine gun. The United States military has MUCH bigger weapons than that.

As far as that specific scene, yes u are right. There was a corollary story I read to that one where 1 insurgent with a weapon was seen entering an apartment building. They blew the whole building up, killing several of its occupants, just to get that one guy. Pretty sure they used something bigger than a machine gun for that one.

You get my point I am sure.

Americans, NOT OUR GOVERNMENT, are not violent people. As our Country involves itself in war after war, most of us say, not our business, we shouldn't be fighting in this. We want a peaceful solution, not a blood soaked Revolution. If everyone in America would agree to a strike, we refuse to go to work, refuse to buy anything, stood outside our own local government offices and said, "THE COUTNRY STOPS UNTIL ALL OF YOU ARE OUT OF OFFICE, NOTHING IN THIS COUNTRY MOVES" TPTB, would freak and give in almost immediately. But it has to be everyone, and in our country EVERYONE will not do that. 100% of us will not happen until things get much worse. I for one would be first in line for the peaceful strike.
We want a peaceful restoration of our government. We have all learned from our own history. Killing is not the answer nor is violence.

Know what happens when people gather in front of places without a permit? they are beaten, maced, tased, shot in the face with pepper balls and jailed. The people who run our lives never hesitate to use violence to get their way, and in the even of some sit-in they will no doubt bring out the troops to disperse the people.

Actually your tax dollars do not protect you from robbers who break into your home and do harm to you and your family. According to the 4-3 decision in Warren v District of Columbia the court decided that official police personnel and the government employing them are not generally liable to victims of criminal acts for failing to provide adequate protection.

Granted that case was decided in the 80s, but if you look to Castle Rock V Gonzales (2005) the Supreme Court decided 7-2 that police were not liable for failing to enforce a restraining order (which in this case lead to the murder of three children) and thus not liable for their failure to "protect and serve" (which honestly is false advertising)

Police exist to attempt to bring criminals to justice, the key word there being attempt. They more often than not show up after a crime has happened and take down a report or await the coroner and detectives.

I have to agree. My family are close friends of several US politicans. And in all honesty, with the exception of one, who isn't really a politician anymore are more concerned with lining their own pockets and cementing their position.

Writing to your congressman isn't working. They aren't opening the mail. Your emails are going to the junk bin. Your phone calls are getting deleted from the machine or ignored by an aid. The people that we voted for to govern our country don't really care about us. Maybe some do the 1st year on the hill. After that they understand how the game works and sell out.

Rise against. The Tea Party movement is a great thing, but it isn't accomplishing as much as we hoped.

Our guns will be the next thing to go. Then their is nothing for the government to fear. A government that doesn't fear the people it governs is tyrannical in nature.

But I honestly don't see th epeople taking this country back. We've given too much away.

And it appears that some on here would rather that the police did not exist at all to even attempt to protect and serve. I have seen an up-tick in a lot of people calling for anarchy as a solution to all of the problems in the United States.

I imagine that these are rebellious teenagers from suburbs who don't have to deal with reality much.

Revolutions are best saved for governments that cannot be fixed. Adults (at least people who are actually mature) realize that if something is broken, you fix it, not replace it.

WE still live better than the vast majority of the world...vast majority, so why revolt? So until all that changes I do not even see a reason to consider it, and why should anyone outside the US even care, much less call us weak in not doing so. I have a fantastic life thank you very much hehe.

"Generally liable" i.e. cannot be sued for many things while they do their jobs... BTW I feel sorry for the robber that breaks into my house, this is America you know...lol

Most Americans don't need the Government to wipe their asses, so with all of this "government care" I don't care and really don't need or want it.

Rather than fighting them outright.

Just stop doing things.

Stop paying them $.

Stop buying pointless crap from the store$.

Stop paying for all their crap$.

This is IMHO, the only way to fight.

Using weapons only leads to pain and death, its retarded.

Ghandi refused to fight, he believed in a peaceful means to a peaceful end

He got assassinated

Civil Disobedience is nothing more then a tool used to start the fire

Once the fire is lit, the revolution truly begins...

Every issue and group in the USA is sharply divided into two "opposing" groups. Intermingled groups.

Everything is an opposing dyad.

If you wanted to create a society that would not revolt because it cannot get momentum, its #ing awesome. Truly. Probably the best argument there is for a guiding policy that isn't stated ever.

All I am able to do in response to this thread is to set here and shake my head .

Having posted once already , I will try again .

Here you have the OP setting waaaaaayyy over in England inciting you to riot and revolt .

In case none of you bothered to read my first post , let me say it again .

Get your head out of your ASS . Advocating the overthrow of your government is AGAINST THE LAW .

Inciting others to riot is AGAINST THE LAW .

Do any of you really believe that this site goes un-noticed by TPTB ? Are you really that naiive ?

Freedom of Speech you may say ? You better educate yourself on that one . You guys are acting with a hive-mentallity .

The OP lives in a place where there are cameras on damn near every corner that watch his every move . He has NO gun-rights as far as I can tell.

And there he sets in front of his monitor inciting all of you to revolt against your government and the laws that dictate your behaviour in such matters .

If it weren't so pathetic , it would be hilarious that so many of you are responding in the manner that you are .

Tell you what , you all go ahead and talk all this sh*t you want to and see where it gets you .

And a special note to the OP : What are you doing to change any of the bullsh*t that has taken your liberties and freedoms away from you ?

After all , every bit of the sh*t that we are struggling with over here , has it's roots in your wonderful utopian country .

London happens to be the home of 'The Crown City'. You know , the Rothschild stronghold ?

You want to do something about 'our' problems , how about doing something about your's first ?

Once you eradicate that financial monster from your midst , then get back with us .

Grow up .

In order to DENY IGNORANCE , you must first be able to RECOGNISE IGNORANCE .

ha. I dont pay taxes and I try not to "feed the beast" as much as I can. Violence is the only answer.

But its funny how you want violence yet your country wont even allow you to own guns. Ha!

Why should someone outside the US even care, because your life is so fantastic? Wow. What ignorance.

But you are the prime example of why nothing will change. You are probably pretty typical of the "ignorant American".

The fact that your government invades and destroys other (militarily) weaker countries, indiscriminately killing their people, destroying their lives and infrastructure at will to serve the interests of big business is just fine with you.

Choke on your arrogance, will you!

So many want an armed revolt. But revolt to what?? I need to see a plan, a vision, if you will, of what all of these armchair revolutionaries and tea party teahadists want to replace our current, totally screwed-up government with.
