Both these articles seem to have some connection in the movements of israel (the second article) who are attempting to exert an influence of control meanwhile the elections are what might threaten the security not just of one of the biggest transport hubs in the world but the western worlds control over these transport and economic pathways. I see the US and Israel working in tandem to ensure that there is some type of covert action that will secure (or threatening this security) the peninsula. With these sorts of actions it is hard to tell.
