Fourth way politics

Let’s first establish the current 3 ways of doing things in America.
Liberalism
Liberalism is the belief in the importance of liberty and equality. Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but most liberals support such fundamental ideas as constitutions, liberal democracy, free and fair elections, human rights, free trade, secularism, and the market economy.
Conservatism
Conservatism is a political and social philosophy that holds that traditional institutions work best and that society should avoid radical change. Some conservatives seek to preserve things as they are, emphasizing stability and continuity, while others oppose modernism and seek a return to the way things were.
Libertarianism
Libertarians are committed to the belief that individuals, and not states or groups of any other kind, are both ontologically and normatively primary; that individuals have rights against certain kinds of forcible interference on the part of others; that liberty, understood as non-interference, is the only thing that can be legitimately demanded of others as a matter of legal or political right; that robust property rights and the economic liberty that follows from their consistent recognition are of central importance in respecting individual liberty; that social order is not at odds with but develops out of individual liberty; that the only proper use of coercion is defensive or to rectify an error; that governments are bound by essentially the same moral principles as individuals; and that most existing and historical governments have acted improperly insofar as they have utilized coercion for plunder, aggression, redistribution, and other purposes beyond the protection of individual liberty.

As we all know Liberals are grouped with Democrats, Conservatives are grouped with Republicans, and Libertarians are considered Independent. So we have 3 political ideologies Left, Right and neither(Center). So you are probably thinking what is left besides Statism as a ‘Fourth Way’? Well it is the combination of Liberalism, Conservatism and Libertarianism that I have personally conjured up and created.

I will begin on Social Issues :

Gay Marriage should not be illegal or legal. It should be recognized as any other marriage and should be optional if a member of the church performs the marriage.
Gun rights are a constitutional issue and were made pretty clear; only regulate the ownership of guns not restrict the ownership. People should be allowed to purchase all non-automatic weapons without government consent.
Abortions should be a personal choice between a woman and a doctor. Government should have no involvement in the matter and neither should any of entity.

So to sum up the Social Issues it would be taking these ideals from the Libertarian position on civil rights and social issues. It is the assertion that government should never interfere in your personal lives except in the situation of a person infringing on the civil rights of another.

Foreign Policy

International organizations are constitutionally illegal because they supersede our national sovereignty. We should immediately exit all international organizations such as, but not limited to; United Nations, World Trade Organization, North American Free Trade Association, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, etc…
Military should be drastically scaled back as we bring all troops home, close all international military bases and limit the activities of our military and intelligence agency to the confinements of our national soil and surrounding waters.

So once again I am taking a page out of the Libertarian playbook to create our national defense and military.

Economic Issues

Now this is where I will mostly break off from Libertarian ideals while still incorporating them. I call it our nations ’10 step program’.

10. Return to the gold standard and eliminate the Federal Reserve.
9. Incorporate a balanced budget amendment into the constitution.
8. Make the Payroll tax optional as the government creates a new Social Security system which is option and is individually funded through payroll tax. You can set your payroll tax percent or refrain from the Social Security system and pay no payroll tax.
7. Allow unrestricted Fair Trade. All companies are allowed to operate in any country of choice but, the must continue to live by US law. This means living up to our safety conditions, work hours, our labor policies. They will also face a flat 25% tariff for imports.
6. Eliminate Medicare/Medicaid and replace those systems with a public health care vouchers for the poor. People will pay out of pocket for health care and health insurance will only be used for emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, cancer, etc… while basic coverage will be out of pocket. Deregulate the medical industry and allow purchase of health coverage across state lines.
5. Eliminate the income tax; raise corporate taxes to a progressive 25-50% rate; and a national sales tax of 25%.
4. Nationalize 75% of the natural resources in the US. When companies get involved in natural resources for capital gain 75% of that money should be handed over to the government along with the government controlling 75% of the business.
3. Eliminate the minimum wage, certain labor protections and 40 hours work week. Instead allow all workers to organize into unions voluntarily. A labor union will not be an option for people employed by small business.
2. Cut the military spending to 1% of GDP. And adjust public officials salaries to GDP growth – Unemployment Rate / Inflation rate and that is how their income will change by year. If they want their income to rise they must spur economic growth, lower unemployment and keep a reasonable inflation rate.
1. Deregulate the financial markets, allow more competition and create an economic climate that enjoys small business growth. The economy should mostly Liassez-faire capitalism with no government involvement or intervention into the economy.

Also which are important but not part of my 10 step program are…

Privatization of schools where all students will receive government vouchers. Schooling will be free from Pre-K to College.
Government will provide free daycare vouchers for all children under 7 and with parents that have an income under a certain level.
Allow people to retire at any age they so choose. Social Security will be optional and you are allowed to chose where your money goes after you die, at what age you may use your retirement, and however much you monthly.
All federal government land will be either privatized or preferably handed over to their respective state.

So what this basically means is everyone will have universal health care, universal education, and the right to welfare. Remember no citizens will have to pay any of their income for other peoples’ welfare. Welfare will be extracted from the revenue generated by natural resources, corporate tax, national sales tax, tariffs, and an optional private Social Security account funded by your own optional payroll tax. There will be no government intervention into the economy. And no government intervention into your financial or personal life without you demanding it.

It will be an overall Libertarian social structure combined with a partially libertarian and liberal/socialist economic structure.

So I took the ‘Political Compass Test’ and with this stance on the issues I was placed here.
