It's not that I don't like the subject. It's my favourite.

I just think it should not be on ATS but on BTS or something.

There are people who...

are religious that cannot be swayed by any means
are religious who are slightly open to debate
are semi-religious who are open to both sides
were religious at one point
hold some belief

There are also people who...

aren't religious that cannot be swayed by any means
aren't religions who are slightly open to debate
aren't religious but open to the idea of it

...And of course everything in between, left, right, up, down, side to side and so on.

I think ATS get's a good mix of people with and without faith, it does add something to some of the discussions.

A secular ATS because any "fact" based on religion or religious scriptures only, is not a fact at all.

With due respect, Sinister, what you just said shows your intolerance for other people's beliefs. Believers happen to feel that our beliefs "are" facts. If you don't agree, that is your choice.

Maybe you should choose to not click on any threads that you know already are going to anger you, or ones that you know the title alone is cause to disagree with the OP/posters.

What you are asking is akin to what the govt is eventually going to be doing anyhow - the Christians/believers will be "shut down" eventually, the Bible tells us this.
So why not, in the meantime, just find a way to humor us - we won't be around for too much longer.

Religion and most topics on this site is all about us as the human race trying to get to the truth of our lives on this planet, the truth about the universe, about reality, about everything you can think of.

Banning talk of religion can only slow us down towards that path. It would be the opposite of why we come to this site, to find answers. And therefore it would not make any sense to ban any topic including religion that may lead to new ideas, answers and ways of life that people try to find.

There's nothing, absolutely NOTHING that could justify the suppression of free speech!

If you ban that BELIEF, what about all other beliefs? And, if you ban the discussion of religion, then you'll have to ban discussion of war, because the two are so closely tied together that they are like husband and wife when it comes to humans on Earth.

Not saying that. But lets wait and see how ATS2010 turns out before we decide what topics should be where

To be honest, I don't know the difference between "above" and "below" TS - I did though one day find myself in BTS - and I was looking around like "Where am I??"

It was a scary day. I didn't recognize anyone, any thread titles, or nicknames.

I don't understand why any [legal] topic is a problem. I can't remember even once being forced to click on a topic and read it against my will.

Religion seems to cross over to many facets of other topics and conspiracies. I would think just the requirement to erradicate it from mention would be a MOD-logistical nightmare. I can just imagine the alerts that could arise from such a thing.

Leave things the way they are (relatively) is my vote; make sound choices yourself. It's YOUR mouse, after all.

Given my last comment, if yall move it to BTS, I would be ok with that - as long as it's not banned totally.

I would still visit ........ post............. respond........... debate ......... etc.

/me needs to go find out what the difference is between ATS and BTS.

One thing I would suggest - on the main thread list page - if yall could somehow squeeze in the thread's original posting date - you have the last poster and that date but not the date of the original thread - be it today, or five years ago.

It would make it more user friendly - in my unprofessional opinion.

Other that that, I think the place is groovy.

I can't wait !

I didn't mean to cause problems

But it looks to me that one of the problems I see with religion threads is not a religion problem at all. ( Not reading the entire thread making the assumption that I have the most bad intentions.) Could it be because we are all just humans and most of us think to be human means to be without flaws
.

Maybe I Should have named the thread ATS facts only opinions on BTS.

No, because in my country it violates our first 2 basic human rights...

Second line not required.
