We are also told not to believe anyone who says he is already in a particular place. If you have to go somewhere to see him, he is a fake.

Hey yahua

Where did you get the idea that he 'went flying on the clouds of Heaven and sits at the right hand of the Power of the Most High' was 'fulfilled' in Luke 24:51

You did know (didn't you) that the Greek words,

"Kai anepheroto eis ton huranon,"

["and he was carried up into heaven"] are not found in the earliest Manuscript Textual copies of Luke, but was added later to the earliest texts?

Codex Sinaiticus omits it, and Codex Bezae Biglot (from AD 330) omits the phrase as well as p52 (from c. AD 240)...

Even Nestle-Aland omits the phrase from their latest 'reconstructed' Greek Text of the NT (what version are they working on, version 24 or something by now--23 attempts and they STILL can't seem to get it right, apparently)

Either way, I think you are way off in la-la land on this one. And even if the text DID include such cloudy 1st century Midrashic pre-scientific nonsense, we would have to ask ourselves:

Where (exactly) is the good Rabbi now, floating somewhere between Uranus and Pluto by now?

Look, the Kingdom never came, and there were no clouds that rabbi's go floating up into...and if you believe in talking snakes, and in virgin births, and in suns and moons that stand still only to start moving again, then I suggest you go back to school and learn some basic astronomy -- and take a Greek class while your at it so you can read what's NOT in your texts !!

Hmm, "records of His birth"...;

The "Star of Bethlehem" (marking the Lords birth) is known to have been a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in constellation Pisces in 7 BCE:

An ancient Babylonian clay tablet dated to 8 BCE, which describes the celestial events for then upcoming 13 months shows that Jupiter and Saturn would remain together in the constellation of Pisces for eleven months and come in close conjunction three times.

Since the Babylonian lunar year begins at the vernal equinox (March/April), the tablet's description refers to the period, March/April 7 BCE - March/April 6 BCE. the tablet says "Month 10, the first of which (December 23) will follow the 29th of the previous month. Jupiter and Saturn in Pisces, Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Aquarius...."

Four copies of astronomical tablets describing celestial activities in 7 BCE are known to have survived. This means that Babylonian astronomers were thoroughly familiar with the movements of the stars and planets, and hand carried tablets or sent by caravan tablet copies to fellow "Magid".

In the Babylonian system Jupiter represented the star of Marduk, the supreme Babylonian god. Saturn was the "Steady One." The constellation Pisces was associated with Ea, the god of wisdom, life and creation. The conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Pisces predicts from Babylonian's viewpoint "the end of an old system and the birth of a new reign chosen by the "God" of the heavens.

The triple conjunction is rare, occurring every 800 years.
Since 7BCE, triple conjunctions were observed in 786 and 1583.

First conjunction: May 27, only early before 5 am in the East sky.
Second conjunction: October 7, (this one all night being the first day of "Jewish" Tabernacles (when His Birth occurred -John 1:14 "dwelt").
Third conjunction: December 1, until just after midnight setting 12:22 am (this was the Biblical three kings "Magi" event).

This coincided with a call of Roman Senate to enroll the province of Syria for taxing.

Julian 'the apostate' so called since he was raised as a Christian yet renounced and became an enemy of Christianity when he came to the imperial throne as Emperor in the year 361. As Emperor he had access to all the imperial records and so wrote; "Jesus, whom you celebrate, was one of Caesar's subjects. If you dispute it, I will prove it.....for yourselves allow that he was enrolled by his father and mother at the time of Cyrenius."

The works of Justin Martyr and Tertullian are relevant in that they appeal to the records of the Romans. Such were evidently still extant at the time, and so could have and would have been gladly used by the opponents of Christianity at the time.
Justin Martyr (born 105 AD) says: "Now there is a village in the land of the Jews, thirty five stadia from Jerusalem, in which Christ was born, as you can ascertain also from the registries of the taxing under Quirinius your first procurator in Judea." (First Apology, chapter 34.)
Tertullian (born 160 AD) also appeals to the Romans own records referrring to the same enrolment event:
"There is historical proof that at this very time a census had been taken in Judea by Sentius Saturninus, which might have satisfied their inquiry repsecting the family and descent of Christ." (Marcion 4.19).

Thanks for your reply Blue Shift...

Yeah, you came with some interesting questions....

I think that He will not come for promoting His new book or to win souls.

As a matter of fact I think that He will not spent much time convincing people that He is the one and only. He will be here to fight....

" The abomination of desolation ". Thats a pretty powerful title is'nt it. Gotta ask yourself... i wonder if hebrew were evolved enough to have a word for Desolation.... or abomination for that matter.

The only answer to sate any athiest ( such as the OP ) is this;

" If he is real you will know when you are dead "

So if your eyes finnaly close and nothing happend... know the second you feel life end that he never was, and many people fell to the form of control most prodominant in the middle east since 2k years ago. And that you didnt.

Jesus aka Captain Vague answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

I like this... 'wars and rumours of wars', 'nation will rise against nation' & 'famines and earthquakes in various places'. Such precise signs to look for! I mean really, why not just save your breath and say 'how long's a piece of string'?

Jesus will most definately have to make a grand entrance, because otherwise there's a straightjacket with his name on it waiting in a mental institution somewhere.

Im more interested in how he will be visable to all personally. Its scientifically impossible to be visable to every human on this planet. Unless you are the planet. What im interested in the most is why someone from Europe would be so mentally involved with a religion that spawned from the middle east. The bible is where it belongs in the library, middle eastern myths and legends.
