I've been reading quite a few posts on here regarding the issue of extremist Christian militia groups in the US (I live in Australia, so it doesn't really reach the news much here).

Found this interesting article in Sydney Morning Herald - sounds like quite an extreme viewpoint, and I was a bit surprised to see it raised in such a conservative Aussie newspaper.

SMH Link

DETROIT: The actions of the Christian militia group raided in Michigan are part of a growing trend of militant activity across the US because of the weak economy and an African-American president, experts and a civil rights group say. Hutaree, a militia based in Lenawee County, Michigan, allegedly planned an uprising against the US government by plotting to murder police...

According to most ATS member, race plays no part at all!
Most insist their is no racism in America, except of course, "reverse" racism, and if you even dare to mention it, you are playing "the race card".
I think that in itself is kind of telling, but I am a disinfo agent after all!

According to our MSM everyone that disagrees with obama is racist, and any group wanting to resist our growing tyranny is a terrorist. It's all about discrediting people.

See! I told you so!
By the way, the only people that claim that the "MSM" or "liberals" say everyone that disagrees with Obama are racist, are the people that hate Obama.

I'm in shock and aw over your logic. I guess then 90% of the nation that didn't want health care must be racist huh? I guess that msnbc, cnn and huff po, making blacks into whites is acceptable to push the racist agenda they want?

You got me I have a deep seeded racism in me because I hate all black people that are named obama/barry and are president of the united states...you got me.

I've been expecting this thread for some time.
Matter fact this may not be the first one here
that argues the same point.

It is NOT about race.
It's about ACTIONS.

Racist hate Obama and all he stands for.

But not all whom hate Obama and all he stands for are racist. Anyone whom says there is no racial overtones towards the anger at Obama is being intellectually dishonest...however the opposite is true also..that anyone whom says all anger and opposition towards Obama is fueled by racism.

Things are never black and white, and yes...there are plenty of milita members that are also skinhead racists...but that does not mean the milita movements are racist by nature.

you will of course find most milita to be populated almost exclusively by white men...not always, but mostly.

Good post! My thoughts exactly.
The rest of you guys don't get it.
Kinda proves my point. Hilarious!

I think it's only about race whenever either side wants it to be...both are in denial in one way or another. However, the race card is pretty much unplayable at this point, it has lost it's meaning and is just another excuse. Previous replies here kind of prove this point.

The people I know that dislike Obama dislike him because of his policies, and they never mention his skin color. Are there people that hate him because of his skin color, of course there are. There are racisits in every country. But to insinuate that its racism that is fuelling all this anger towards him is ludicrous. People just plain don't like his policies. And its the MSM medias job to discredit the opposition. Remember how they trashed all the antiwar people as unpatriotic and antiamerican during the bush years? Now they are serving the new administration and the new agenda. Just as they will when we get another neocon in office someday.

Yes, everyone that hated Bush are just as much racist as those that hate Obama.

See, nothing that anyone says against Obama, has anything to do with actions, it is all a racist thing.

Just as everyone that hated Bush, had nothing to do with his actions, it was a racist thing.

See, this is the logic behind the Dems. They cannot understand how anyone can dislike Obama. Now, he has not changed any moves that Bush had enacted.

Patriot Act
Gitmo
Bailouts
Taking over private business
Giving Federal Reserve more power
Enacting un Constitutional laws
Non Transparency
Bribery
Extortion
Tanking the economy
Lobbyists
Campaign Finances from same sources as Repubs
Appointing Czars
Enacting draconian controls
Enacting taxes that he stated he would not
Attempting to install Carbon Taxes that will usher in Global Governance
Cronyism
etc etc etc etc etc

See, it has everything to do with race. The American people are just idiots. They cannot tell when they are getting screwed over. They only remember that Obama is black.

/sarcasm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really do not believe it has anything to do with his skin color. Personally I would have voted for Colin Powell, but I did not vote for obama. I also noticed that approximately 55% of the American people want the recently passed healthcare bill repealed, and that was on a CNN report. So this goes way beyond extremists, unless CNN polled ONLY extremists in that particular poll, or maybe it was a story, I cannot remember right off hand. There are many American people who are waking up and getting ticked off at what is being done.

So no, the well goes much, much deeper than a race card ever could. I just hope we can stop the insanity...

Well said endisnighe. We cannot help but notice there are more than one of those items you listed that obama said he would see either repealed or shut down. Yet he has moved in the same direction as bush. And the transparency he promised is nothing more than lip service.

Just the same old song and dance with a different person in office.

Not to derail the thread, but this is the first I've seen on ATS even mentioning the supposed plot to kill police.

Aside from the ridiculous play of the race card, the story I heard from friends was, that their plan was to kill a policeman, then go to the funeral to kill all the police that showed up!

I didn't watch any of the MSM on this, but I immediately told them if that's what they're telling you, you have to be smarter than to believe that.

Is this the story that they are trying to sell?

I'm in Indiana, so maybe it got blown up a little...

Yes they have been trying very hard but this is not 1965 or even 1995.

I was around durring the Bill Clinton years and many had the same sort of revulsion then toward liberal issues.

Notice as well all the anti-milita push during Clinton. A growth in militas durring Clinton with some anti-gun legislation and more than a few killings of milita and others durring those years.

Durring the 8 years of Bush it was rather calm.

Obama gets elected...homeland security starts running its mouth...fule to the flames...some talk about new gun legislation...Holter makes a few comments here and there....american easy gun laws are said to make it easy for guns to go into mexico......public doesnt buy it...fuel to the flames.....veterens publicaly considered dangerous along with other radicals....fule to the fire.

It has been the liberals here in this administration that have fuled the current apprehension...just like durring the Clinton years.

It has been another long standing dream of liberals to get them guns brother. Call then racist or whatever you have to call them.....

Bush passed the torch to Obama and he is sprinting with it. On a positive note, alot of the people I know who voted for Obama are getting seriously pissed. It's good to see people questioning the person they voted for and not blindly following the leader of their party in the false left/right paradigm.

Race? No way whatsoever. Michelle Bachmann told me on Fox news that all the teabaggers are peace loving happy patriots.

They're apparently so happy that they're all complaining and liking our president to Adolf Hitler. Can't be racist at all.

It's apparently so not related to racism that members of the media and ATS members can't control themselves and must throw in the president's middle name. But they're only doing that to be thorough I'm sure.
If Obama's middle name was Edward I would bet that only 20 percent of the population would even know it. Can't make fun of Edward now can we?

Which makes me wonder why Republicans, Beck, and Hannity keep calling him a Socialist.

Was Bush a Socialist?
