Legend of Easter the Chicken
One day there lived a chicken named Easter Bunny. She was a hen that always laid eggs, but they’d never hatch. After sitting on her eggs for weeks and weeks she’d go and try to hatch one of her eggs. It’d always be empty though. This was truly a painful sight to see there on the farm.
Then one day, a bunny came by to visit. The bunny saw how the chicken carried-on all sad and cackling about how she lost another egg to the “emptiness within”.
The bunny came to console the chicken and tell a story how that every year at the same time, a baby chick would crawl underneath his belly, cackling-out “Momma”. The bunny then would build a little nest for the chick and then seek out a hen to be the chicks Mommy.
He then asked the hen named Easter if she’d come to his place and bring the chick back to her place and care for the chick as if it was her own. Easter Bunny was filled with joy! Some hours passed and then here came along the hen and her new chick!
Nobody knew the bunny’s name. Nor has he ever been seen or heard from since. Now, can you guess what the hen named her chick? Miracles!
