Israel has its chance and it blew it. About 2 months ago, the Iranians move their entire enriched uranium stockpile to a surface facility for further processing. It was vulnerable to air attack, and ... What did Israel do? ... Nothing... After about a week, the stockpile was returned to its underground bunker.

I think its really unfair that america through the UN security council , along with the punks in the UK government and anyone else on the bandwagon want to bully these sovereign nations from developing a renewable source of energy to bring them into the developed world, it would seem as though atomic energy despite its dangerous potential is being used as an excuse to keep the world running on the cash cow that is hydrocarbon fuels.

leaving behind petrochemical industry and using nuclear fuel to generate electrical energy to power homes brings Iran into the 21st century. Yet we are led to believe they want to create such a fuel resource for ominous reasons.

It isnt really fair that we allow our governments to judge these people, after all this energy could mean life and death for millions of iranians, we simply need to look at North Korea for this, they are in the same boat when it comes to nuclear fuel.

America doesnt want them using this technology for fear they would go rogue and use their nuclear deterrent in an unprovoked attack.
Lets not kid ourselves , these nations would be smoldering piles of flesh, steel and rock if they launched a nuke at anyone.

When the Iranian president says the state of israel should be wiped off the map , he doesnt mean it literally he means the state of israel should be removed and given back to the lands rightful owners , and thats his personal opinion, He isn't that stupid to launch a pre emptive strike on israel to kill millions of people.

You think he is from the middle east and Iranian , but these nations are trying to remove themselves from the middle ages , not keep themseleves in it !

I just hope its not america who gets all gung ho and starts wasting more tax payers money on bombs to expand the empire !

america the most powerful nation in the world , and where does the power lie , in the people , not the military no the government the people , use it wisely !

Well, lets see...

"defector" tells the US intelligence community that Iraq has WMD when it has none. End result, invasion, war huge civilian casualties, need to rebuild a county, no WMD.

"defector" tells the US intelligence community that Iran has WMD.....

See where I'm going?

The problem with the "War to keep the MIC in business, and ensure the promotion of US interests" (Also known as the "War on Terror") is that it continually needs new plotlines to make it viable. I see this as the first step of adding more meat into the mincer.

Not only that: evil hateful boogie-man (saddam / ahmadinejad) who says bad things from rogue anti-american nation (iraq /iran) wants / has WMDs.. oh yea, add the hates / threatens israel thing, and parts about the entire nation wanting to slit the throats of US children who love freedom.

Even the road to war is the same: endless UN bickering, "sanctions" that claim to reflect "world authority", macho war monger goodness about limited patience and all options being on the table... protecting so called american interests yadda yadda blah blah..

I guess they figure 9 years is enough time for most people to fall for the same old lies from the same old zero credibility clowns.. who in their right mind can trust the govt about iran after the very same people lied their asses off about the necessity and urgency for 2 dumb wars not too long ago? great idea!, trust the same lying failures again!.. history says doing that results in "epic fail".

well if it is legit... someone had better get everything out of this guy because the people he left behind are going to hunt him down and he is dead... he will not survive no matter how or what anyone does to protect him...

Read CIA and the Cult of Intelligence.

They gave this scientist a new identity, new documents, US citizenship, and on top of that, he probably gets a CIA pension for life. The only way he will get killed is if he does something really dumb, like fly back to Iran for a vacation.

If this guy was really a well connected nuclear scientist involved with Iran's energy and or weapons programs, he probably had a lot of valuable info.

It's standard operating procedure to milk them dry. It doesn't surprise me it took a year to fully debrief a nuclear scientist. I've read of them taking months to debrief low ranking Soviet Tank Corps officers.

They like to announce their success after the operation is over and they're safe and sound because it makes the CIA look good, and it is demoralizing to the country from which the person defected.

Resolution 1737 (Dec 2006) - Ban on supply of materials and technology which could contribute to uranium enrichment or making of nuclear weapons delivery systems
Resolution 1747 (Mar 07) - Prevents dealings with Sepah bank and 28 named people and organisations, bans arms imports from Iran and limits loans to humanitarian and developmental purposes
Resolution 1803 (Mar 08) - Asset restrictions, travel bans extended, sale of dual-use items banned, governments called on to withdraw financial backing for companies trading with Iran

Yes take a look at resolution 1747 , the blocking of loans for Humanitarian and developmental purposes !

Cmon does that sound like something a peace loving nation who are defending the freedoms of democracy would do !

It only serves to hurt the people of iran , not their government , its the same with any country that has a foreign policy that doesnt align with the empire , they force each member of the UN to enforce the sanctions !

Well I really hope china veto these sanctions and stop america bullying developing nations , because now china owns americas debt , china has them by the balls

It's not right that the largest nuclear power in the world gets to pick and choose who has the right to nuclear energy !

And all this coming from a man who has a nobel peace prize ! , yeh great way to show how peaceful you are by threatning other countries and being at war with another 5

... bans arms imports from Iran and limits loans to humanitarian and developmental purposes

It means the only loans allowed are for humanitarian and developmental purposes. Not quite so evil as you are making it sound.

He's probably been given a tour of the facilities at Guantanamo, then on to soak up the atmosphere in Denver. Not much of a choice, really.

I'm awarding lots of stars to OP and others commenting on the first part of this thread - an excellent read, a kind of 'CIA Black Ops for Dummies'...

The war's a coming.
