Scottish Newspaper Exposed U.S. Plan to Hit Iran

www.americanfreepress.net

The Sunday Herald Scotland ran an exclusive revealing that hundreds of tons of powerful U.S. “bunker-buster” bombs and other weapons are secretly being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean—strategically placed for missions to Iran—in preparation for an impending attack on the Persian nation.

Herald ScottlandI find it strange that the only place I find this discussed is on blogs, not by any other U.S. Newspapers hoping to 'make it big' with a story like this.

While the source article makes many 'odd' claims, (such as "It could trigger the demise of the United States, or even destroy the Earth." [speaking about a U.S. war with Iran]), it stil seems to be a reliable source.

ATS, what are your thoughts on this?

Shipping bombs to some own base is not a plan to any strike.

Those boms can be used anywhere - Iran, Israel, Africa, Pakistan... Who knows?

I'm going to say thats not enough bombs for use in Iran and more likely are going to be used in the June offensive against the Taliban.

387 bombs, around 290 tons of bombs.

We dropped almost 90,000 tons of bombs in the first gulf war.

290 tons is for Afghanistan, not Iran.

Anti-Taliban Offensive in Kandahar to Begin in June
www1.voanews.com...

This is why Obama came to see Karzai. Kandahar is the last stronghold.
Once Kandahar falls, its all over for the Taliban.

The Pakistanis are hitting hard from the south:

Pakistani jets kill 26 Taliban in Orakzai

Latest Pakistan offensive kills 10 Taliban: officials

The 290 tons of bombs will be useful at hitting the Taliban in hardened structures and caves.

If we pull this off, we can begin withdrawal from Afghanistan. The war's end is in sight!

Well guess what...CIA is now saying Iran can make Nukes. Fox news is really trumping this one up in a panicky voice. OMG they can make nukes says the intelligence agency. Just moments before this revelation we had been told they were at least a year off. Now when wikileaks is about to release some information that is apparently damning stuff, we have a new crisis brewing.

While I'm pretty certain that Iran is going to get hit within the next few months, this story (which has had a few threads) is not exactly "blowing the whole story wide open" or anything. As already said, that base is in a tactical position that can serve any number of missions. The US doesn't keep all its bombs at home - they have to have easy access to them.
