PeaceMaker, it only took me watching until about the 1:35 point to recognize it as an airplane.

I've been flying airplanes for over 30 years....almost forty years, now (just shy by about two...)

It is obvious the videographer is zooming n, and out. The airplane in question has its landing lights on. Looks to me like an arrival, based on speed. We typically turn on as many exterior lights as feasible when below 18,000 feet, i n the US. It's the "see and be seen" concept, in visual conditions. (In clouds, not so much, they can be distracting to the crew).

Anyway, at the 1:35 point, you can make out the left wingtip NAV light (red) and the white wingtip strobe as well.

His (what did he call it??) "plasma effect" is just the video camera doing its thing, nothing else.

If YOU have a video camera, you can get the same effect, just go film a commercial jet at night, don't use a tripod, and zoom in and out while recording. Works like a charm.
