I thought they were suicide bombers? (Moscow Metro)

They are not fighting because they are Muslims, they are fighting because they are angry, and since they don't have guided missiles, or jets, or submarines, or drones, the only option they have available is suicide bombings..

Blowing a metro station (hint - used by civilians) is not fighting. Nor of course is blowing buildings with civilians from opposing side.
Deliberate attacks specifically targeting civilian population are terror acts. And it does not matter how barbarically Russian (or American or Israeli or Pakistani or Sudanese or Jordanian or Chinese or Martian) military acted in Chechnya (or elsewhere). Attacks on military targets can be classified as fighting. Lack of drones/missiles and ctr does not explain why one decides to strike civilians and not military personal. And it is counterproductive since general public after encountering such a "fighting" usually supports its military even more blindly.

With a suicide bomber there is more certainty that the bomb will go off. Planted bombs, especially selfmade ones, are less reliable. This is especially true when dealing with hexogen explosives, which in the past had issues with detonation via a timer. A suicide bomber can detonate the explosives via an alternative method if one doesn't work.

Also with a suicide bomber there is less chance that the explosive will be uncovered ahead of detonation. People in Moscow faced terror attacks in the past, including in the metro. So they are pretty vigilant about unattended bags.

Question: Since it IS so OBVIOUSLY counterproductive, and does not produce anything for the people who supposedly did it but more attacks, then why do they keep doing it? Is it because they are all retarded? Or they have this crazy religion that tells them, "Blow up a dozen of the enemy, so that they will then kill thousands of us and take our resources"?

Yup it is all unfolding and slowly coming to light:

"It was the men in the apartment building, at a distance, that then detonated the explosives by remote [control].

"The investigators say they found traces of explosives, some traces of preparation, within the apartment building.

Suicide vests, detonations, and extra explosive bombs which didn't explode, and to sum it all together, it was a coordinated attack..

Good one Russia, maybe next we see a passport which popped out of the pocket of the black widow once the explosive she was wearing exploded due to a remote. It all makes sense to me now
