Did You Know? The Space Shuttle Runs On Only One Megabyte Of RAM!

Hopefully their computers utilize what is called "virtual memory", also known as "page file", which is basically just a hard drive being used like it was RAM.

Because of the sensitivity of RAM, I wouldn't be surprised if they favored virtual memory. It may be a bit slower than RAM, but a bit more reliable in space.

This is probably a good thing,as they cant load any Microsoft environments to the shuttle.

Big plus in my books

I have always said to my Wife that I would love to go into Space but only if I could go in a ship that used Alien Technology!

There is no way I would trust Microsoft / Intel / Nasa for something so important. It makes me think if we really ever did go to the moon with paper thin walls and no proper computers?

So it's alien technology or one of "their" craft all the time for me (think Independence Day movie with Will Smith flying it).
