With the Arctic summit coming to a head and Denmark, Norway reaching out to Canada we as a nation NOW have a opportunity to place some Canadian values at the forefront of this planets guiding values.

Mr. Harper, the slippery Narwhal of Alberta oil money, needs to realize that Canada via addressing the delicate nature of the Arctic's various niche ecosystems as well as the need for 'green exploration" can become the earth spokescountry for all Arctic life.

Life is sacred so says the Pope.

Canada can follow in the full spectrum idea that man can be responsible with nature without exploitation of people groups as well as the humble niche ecosystems which dot the landscape north of the shield.

How, as a mosaic of nature and man can we develop the Arctic, to be proud and free as it was and as it will become?

From what I understand, PM Harper and the Conservative government indeed do have environmentaly conscientious policies for the Canadian Arctic. THey even plan to add some muscle to back up these policies.

Then again, I've been wrong before.....
