I think some Americans are also angry because they've realised that the American Dream that they've been sold, how if you work hard enough you will succeed and that you can go to the very top, is bollocks for 99% of the population. It's similar to the alleged Marx quote about religion: it's an opiate to keep the masses quiet and distracted.

There's a lot of Americans angry generally these days.

Well Marx was just POed because christains dont make good communist radicals. You know with him being the prophet of doom and all.

But I do agree that many that have bought into the dream feel like its a bad deck with to many jokers.

Well we must remember forced charity is NOT charity, forced charity is redistribution of wealth, and redistribution of wealth is a socialist leaning policy. This was not the point of my OP, it was to say that people that do not hail this health care law as a godsend and the greatest thing since sliced bread are slandered in the media, called racists, radicals, extremists and terrorists. These insults are what is causing alot of people to be angry. I also pose that most, if not all of the so called threats are just political publicity stunts that the dems are using to draw attention away from the fact that the bill was nothing even close to what they said it would be, so they could again play the victims.

Well Marx's quote was really about people being drugged and sleepwalking through abysmal lives on the promise of a wonderful hereafter. Today I might have mentioned the sheeple. The Simple fact is that The elite are a minority and we are the majoprity. And yes we can force changes.

Many, like my brother, are just some hard working Americans down on their luck.

You see, THAT is how it is suppose to work. YOU help YOURS, I'll help MINE. I don't want to help YOUR brother, I don't even know or care about your brother, I have my own to help right here. Help should be voluntary. Help is not YOU putting a law and gun to MY head and forcing me to help YOUR brother. I quit working for da man back in 1996, swore that I would never pay another dime of income tax every again if I can help it, because I'd rather help MY OWN .. not you, not your brother, not anyone else. Keep your fingers out of my pockets and I will let you keep those fingers .. and your life.

So you propagate that anyone for this reform is a sinner yet you refuse to care about any of your human brothers and sisters besides those that matter to you...

I may not be for this reform, but if you're going to use Christianity as your soap box, I might suggest studying a bit more on the beliefs you say you hold as if I remember, this guy that's fairly important in Christianity, Jesus Christ, was all for helping the poor and caring for everyone, not just your own.

What I said is that it's a sin for anyone to STEAL from another in order to get what THEY want out of life. It's a sin to force another person to do something for you, PERIOD! There is no way anyone can wiggle out of this one, enslaving another to satisfy your desires is immoral, a sin, a crime against humanity, and that helps nobody in the long run. Say, maybe we should bring back black slavery again, the white people benefited quite well from that too. This health care reform is NOT reform .. the problem still exists .. it's too damn expensive because health care is a FOR PROFIT industry. Your ill health is some corporations profit, and I ain't gonna pay for THAT! I'd rather die than be forced to be your **gg**.

.. but if you're going to use Christianity as your soap box,

Ha, christianity, don't get me started on THEM trouble makers. Because I said theft and slavery is a sin does not imply I am superstitious/religious .. I am agnostic (i.e. I'm HONEST and do not lie .. I simply DO NOT KNOW if there is a god).

Make no mistake, I'm not against helping, in fact I help those I choose to help often. My only problem with this is that YOU and NOBODY ELSE has any right to decide who or what I should be laboring for, who I should be helping. Any attempt to force me to "involuntarily" labor for YOUR needs will result in something I would prefer and recommend we both try to avoid for the sake of both our health and well being.
