So we now need feds, homeland security, joint terrorism task force and local law enforcement plus helos and night raids over pipe bombs! Little over the top dont you think, something stinks here,I think the feds went fishing and didnt catch any fish.

Or perhaps:

Pipe Bombs = High Explosives?

Have not several posters already crowed about the militias having access to "more than just 'pea shooters'"?

Are not many current militia members former military, many of whom would have had experience with, and may still have access to, substances with a bit more "ooph" than gunpowder?

Just speculation here, but if the federal authories got wind of a pending transaction involving a large quantity of HE, sourced to one of these outfits, wouldn't that explain the current "show of force" being displayed?

Got to say, that with all the anti-government clap-trap recently spewed, groups like this have probably made themselves "items of special concern and interest" in the eyes and minds of the authorities.

The nail that sticks out is the one that gets pounded.

interesting to note that they didnt tell local police about the raid..

Nah that is actually pretty common proceedure. The DEA raided some guys in a neighboring county last year. They didn't tell the police at all and it nearly led to a shoot out. Neighbors of the house being raided called and reported a home invasion. They reported "dozens of men in black clothes with automatic guns."

The local cops showed up ready for war. They had the SWAT team and several deputies with AR-15s show up. It never made the news. If my friend hadn't been dating a 9-1-1 operator I wouldn't have even known.

Those videos you posted remind me back when I was a kid and we would play army
I don't see anything wrong with going out and practicing combat maneuvers. I hope this is not why the FBI went after them. They better have a good reason, like trying to obtain illegal weapons etc.

Hear that militia guys, cause confusion to the feds by calling in a home invasion. May cause a firefight between the feds and the local police.

Order through chaos the gov always says.

Calm down, people, this was the arrest of a few idiots, looks like. Every large Militia group has a few Rambo wannbees in them with their own, Patriotic ideas of how to do things. The Militias are not going to rise up and take down the elected government, what they do is protect the States and the rights of the States, and protect and defend the Constitution. The State Governments have to be the ones who stand and say "no more!" The people have already said it, we are simply waiting for our own, Home government to stand up and say something. Trouble is anymore, they are in the criminal element too, and are no good at all.
Look at the Militia as a hole card.....

Never mind the large drug pushing gangs in most of our cites. They are making money from that.

Never mind?

Without proof it is pure speculation of course, however corrupt feds have nothing to do with these raids do they?

The feds need to display their ability to infiltrate and bring down subversive organizations that are considered a threat to the federal government, it is their mandate here, their objective and they have done a great job so far.

Enjoy the show!

Listen to this! If your just being smart I get you, otherwise

This is true as National Guard is now under Federal Authority a simple call from the Governor of a state to activate the unorganized and organized militia's would give the militia's the right to defend the State. As far as I am aware many militia members are previous US military veterans.

Making high explosives isnt hard if you are a farmer or a construction worker the ingredients are out there from high grade fertilizers to chemical components, its the detonators and end caps that are harder to come by, anyone can make a pipe bomb. The way to arm oneself in a revolution is to make things as you need them that way you cannot be caught with anything incriminating. Hell you can make almost anything you want if you put your mind to it. But i say this...only make things you intend to use at the time, and be prepared for the comeback of youre actions..its all or nothing, make sure you pick the right fight and dont get swallowed up with the amateurs. When you make something capable of killing another be prepared to die yourself or dont bother!!!!

The goal of a militia is to defend Americans against her enemies ... enemies bearing weapons intent on harming us and ours and to defend the plot of land where we live, and help to protect our neighbors and friends, if at all possible. Hence the Second Amendment - the right to bear arms - in a defensive, local capacity.
God bless the founding Fathers' wisdom for including this addendum!
My home is well defended because of it.
Local militias are necessary and very relevant; we need them. Why? Should it get really ugly and a war we are fighting comes to our shores - and even worse- comes inland, you'll be grateful the neighbor and his (her) 'militia buddies' are in front of your house defending you from the enemy.
However;
There is no clause or amendment in the Constitution that states any militia as any authority to defend the Constitution itself against enemies, foreign or domestic. It doesn't matter how many Bibles they swear this pledge upon. And most militias have members undergo a ceremonial decree as if they are an elected official or their group is somehow a local branch of the U.S. military, formed to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Imagining they have this authority is a narcissistic delusion, probably due to a lifetime of TV influence as their source of education and imaginative stimulus.
Furthermore;
If any organization publicly advocates an armed rebellion against the government (***Disclaimer - without probable cause!) they invite TPTB to swoop down. How can anyone think they would be immune or above reproach by the enforcement agencies of the very land the claim to love if they threaten violence? Violence as a first resort is the product of a weak mind.
Imagine there was a militia group that wanted those in power of the U.S. to fall, and there are; just search youtube to view their rhetoric. Oh, sure they claim a constitutional right to overthrow the government and 'end tyranny'. But, have they answered the obvious question .... the question you be asked yourself before you go headlong into the abyss ... what then?
***Disclaimer - If the Government attempts to dislodge you from your home without warrant or imposes Martial Law - that is cause enough, IMHO. Into the breach, dear friends .....
But just because you don't like an individual holding an office of authority, or they pass an act that may curb the Constitution - No, you don't draw weapons and march on 'City Hall'. You work within the system. Hey, if they manipulated it ... so too can you to manipulate it back. Unless, you think they are smarter than you are.
I'll say it again, folks ...
Violence as a first resort is the product of a weak mind.

Although it is true the Obama administration is perpetuating the unconstitutional laws and acts enacted by the Bush regime, blaming him personally for their continuation is a culmination of mislead beliefs that he has some totalitarian control or power to undo the damage done. He does not. And anyone who claims he is NOT the duly elected President lives in some fantasy world (no doubt eternized by youtube) if they think a militia is the answer to that misguided notion.

There is obviously a total news blackout on this event. That always raises a red flag.

There is authority within State Constitutions that provide more clear guidelines for militia activity and purpose. They can be called on by the governor to defend the state.

In the state I live in the State Constitution states the following:

Sec. 30. Militia and the right to bear arms.
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; and, as standing armies in time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they shall not be maintained, and the military shall be kept under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power....

Funny how a bunch of rag tag sandal wearing terrorists have been putting up a pretty good fight againts our "state of the art weaponry". If the brown stuff hits the fan my support lies with the militias. Right now in US society no government is better than the corrupt pos' we have in Washington. Godbless those brave Americans that have the balls to pick up a weapon in the face of tyranny and the FBI.

Big time red flags. I am especially concerned regarding the "sealed warrants" and the extreme force of the raid.

Dosent the FBI understand that using extreme force with helicopters, large groups of guys in black outfits with H&Ks is just playing into what the militias want? Everytime they go after someone like they are about to attack Afghanistan they are getting the militias more and more support.

Usually someone who can write can also read. You might want to read the Michigan militia page that was posted earlier. Unless of course you prefer lies and propaganda.

Updated: FBI raids in Washtenaw, Lenawee counties tied to Michigan militia group

The FBI conducted raids Saturday night in Washtenaw County and Lenawee County in an investigation involving members of Hutaree, a Christian-oriented militia group based in Lenawee County, AnnArbor.com has learned.

The nature of those raids has not been made public. FBI Special Agent Jason Pack, who is based in Washington, D.C., said he did not know how many people were taken into custody. Gina Balaya, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Detroit, could not be reached for comment today.

Local Michigan militia member Jimmy Schiel said he was told five people were arrested - including one known member of Hutaree. Schiel said the five were reportedly arrested during a raid at a service in the Ann Arbor area for a Hutaree member who died recently. Schiel was told about eight Hutaree members were present. Schiel, who said he was invited but did not attend, spoke to a Hutaree member who was at the service, he said.

Hutaree members couldn't be reached for comment today. As AnnArbor.com reported last week, several Hutaree members were recently involved in searches in Bridgewater Township after two residents went missing in separate incidents. Schiel worked closely with Hutaree members during those searches.

The Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia has not been targeted in any raids, spokesman Mike Lackomar said. The group posted a message on its website today saying, "Neither michiganmilitia.com nor the SMVM have been 'raided' by the FBI. We do nothing illegal."

The FBI set up a command post at the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department late last week. Sheriff's spokesman Derrick Jackson could not be reached this morning.

Several other raids took place around the same time in Ohio and Indiana, although it's unclear whether they were related. The Ohio raids took place in Sandusky and Huron, and the Indiana raid occurred in Hammond.

Here are links to news coverage of FBI raids in southeast Michigan and elsewhere Saturday night:

Sandusky Register: Police, federal agents in raids in Sandusky, Huron link

Michigan Militia member James Schiel, second from left, told AnnArbor.com today that five people were arrested in the raids. He is pictured with Hutaree member Wendy Lineweaver, a member who goes by the name Chainsaw, a member named Kevin, and Will Bachman. In the photo, they were helping local law enforcement officials search for a Bridgewater Township man who was missing in February.

Seems one group is being targeted.

The sergeant at arms for the Senate made a statement saying there has been NO SPIKE in the number of threats received. Congress receives threats all the time. But that level has not risen according to the man in charge.
It is all BS by the govt. and the media. They need a boogeyman a bad buy and you're falling for it.

The FBI conducted multiple raids throughout Saturday and into Sunday, with one of them centered on a property where known members of a militia live. The land is owned by a man who lives in a house on the property. His sons live in two mobile homes that are also on the property. Saturday's raids were concentrated on those mobile homes.

Police said one person driving up from Toledo, Ohio was arrested and then taken in for questioning.

Police also said they were looking for at least one person..

so...according to you, getting your gas line cut is not an act of terror, having a coffin placed on your front lawn is not an act of terror, throwing bricks through windows is not an act of terror, being called a ni**er, and threatened to be hanged is not terror.

i guess terror to you is having a healthcare bill passed.

Being called a ni**er is not an act of terror, insulting yes, terror no.
When you get offended it doesn't mean someone wants to kill you.
