What happened to finding WMD in Iraq??

I thought former President Bush declared war on Iraq due to the reason of suspecting that Iraq held weapons of mass destruction. However, after many years of fighting there, no WMD have been found. Doesn't that make the United States wrong in our invasion of that country?

First of all, we fought the Iraq war without Congress' approval. Then we are proven wrong by our own words. Still I haven't a single apology from the US government concerning this matter to explain why their "intelligence failed".

Even if we did offer an apology, doesn't this mean that we invaded a foreign country based on false pretenses? Basically we killed innocent civilians because we thought they were a threat. But this "threat" was misplaced. So aren't we like the police officer who shoots down a black man due to racism?

The fact is this: we just killed and are continuing to kill innocent people.

Those who are narrow-minded might say: "Iraq is full of terrorists!"
Based on what? Where's your proof? The brainwashed media of the US?
Assuming that you're right about that, how is one country going to wipe out all terrorism in the world? Terrorism is an ideology, not a physical thing that can be pinpointed to a single location.

Don't even bring 9/11 into all of this, because FYI that was Afghanistan, not Iraq. Get your facts straight. We defeated Afghanistan due to the 9/11 attack and then we declared war on Iraq due to WMD. When we didn't find any, we continued with our invasion since it "furthered the promotion of democracy".

Who says Iraq wanted to become a democracy? A country is like a family. Do any families in your neighborhood manage you family affairs? Come on, the Iraq war is purely illegal. Anyone with half a brain can see through this propaganda about terrorism.

every person in their right mind know thats not the true reason.

they have however found what may be a WMD

It appears WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) may have been found in Iraq. Soldiers found a missile buried, presumably by Saddam Hussein before the 2003 invasion.

WMD found in Iraq

This is what i find strange, if the US government was capable of pulling off 9/11, surely they could have planted a few WMD's in Iraq to convince the public they had found something? surely easier than staging 9/11

You must have seen the new Matt Damon movie Green Zone. It's pretty much when the war started, how the intelligence was wrong when trying to locate WMD's and how it was just covered up.

i think they're testing us as a global society and they want to see how far they can push us before we stand up against them. maybe if there was massive protests in 2005 they would have realised information about finding WMDs in 2005. Now they know that no matter how far they go we just go along with it...

Oh please, do I need to enlighten people, AGAIN?

What are the two things government can do?

Tax and control. This had nothing to do with anything but, Tax and control.

700+ foreign military bases, in 100+ countries.

There is already a one world government. They just forgot to tell you.

not yet, a one world government must have a one world army... looking at the major superpowers i dont see them working together... its coming together slowly. step by step...

You are very right about Iraq, but wrong about Afghanistan. Afghanistan has nothing to do with 911 apart from playing a role within the media. The news brought forth Bin Laden 20 or 30 min after the plains hit the building. As far as some facts go Bin Laden didn't even know about 911 until it happened.

All the accused 911 hijackers were from either Lebanon or Saudi Arabia. Why attack Afghanistan?

The only terrorist camps in Afghanistan are the once created by the media.

If you haven't noticed the US have never shown a UAV image of any Taliban training camps within Afghanistan before or after 911. Or engaged one.

Hmmm, No-one remembers Colin Powell apologizing for getting the intelligence wrong on Iraq?

The US Government, itself, Admitted that there were no WMD of any significance in Iraq. Does anyone remember the infamous Semi-Trailer Mobile WMD Factory? Colin powell pointed out that the Intelligence Gathered showed Iraq had a Mobile WMD Facility and was travelling all over the countryside.

He ended up admitting that there never was a Mobile WMD Facility and then he blamed someone or somedepartment for getting it wrong.

I guess they could all blame that Chinese Fella, SumDumCant for all the lies they had to tell.

The US Killed Saddam Husein because Saddam held his ground and would not Bow to President Bush and The Middle East Cronies.

There are worse people in the world than Saddam Hussein and the US has never done a thing about it.

Mugabi comes to mind straight away.

Back in 1988, I believe it was, there was all kinds of evidence that Saddam was trying to get his hands on a nuclear weapon.

This is a Calutron. I'm pretty sure he wasn't using it to wash his over-sized underwear.

Here's some more reading.

Iraqi Nuclear Weapons

My question is... Why now? Bush? Really? Don't you know, just from the last few months, that the U.S. Government (congress) does whatever it wants? How could anyone here at ATS possibly even begin to answer you as none of us have the slightest say whatsoever.

In all seriousness though, nobody really knew if Saddam had stopped pursuing his goal of acquiring WMD's or not. He already displayed his willingness to gas whole towns and such.

I think of it like this...

If your neighbor got caught molesting a child, would you let him babysit yours just because two years has gone by?

The new movie Green Zone may go some way to enlightening you on nukes/WMD in Iraq

Picture this. You have drugs in your house and for a few years I tell you as a cop that I know you have drugs in there and you should stop it. Then i start stopping by but not really going inside and tell you you really better stop because im gonna go inside soon. Then the month before I tell you what days and where I will start going into your house and im pissed about the drugs.

Do you think you keep the drugs in your house on that day?

American intelligence : Remember this

Does anyone remember how many the British SAS and Task force K-Bar killed in Tora Bora. Non and captured non. The Bombing of Tora Bora was nothing but a news display for you and me.

A Trillion dollars.
Hundreds of thousands of dead, maybe a million plus
Commission of atrocities
Inspiring & creating terrorism

all for something that was seen less often than UFOs?

Why aren't [American] people angry?

I just don't get it.

Lies? Confusion? a Mistake?
Where is any accountability at all?
From news media, government, intelligence agencies?

A Trillion dollars for an atrocity over something that was imagined.

That is insane & the unresponsive American people seem to be brain-dead.

I don't think it would be necessary. They had so many backup reasons, it wouldn't matter. Besides, look at all the Republican fans who supported each new reason for the invasion.

Are you saying Saddam gave the weapons to someone else to hold? That is kinda ludicrious. If he had them, he would have used them.
