It is shamefull to see the whole Tea Party movement be chastized based on the actions of a few bad apples. There are thousands and thousands of people who peacefully, and respectfully follow the tea party and what it stands for. But all we hear about it the few morons who spew hatred.

DON"T FALL FOR THE MEDIA PROPAGANDA!
The vast majority of Tea Party supporters are average people just like you or I, and it is down right shamefull how they are getting lumped in with the whack jobs.

Ted Bundy was a Republican
John Wayne Gacy was a Democrat

Wow, thank you for the incredibly insightful post.
So, you believe "for the most part they are uneducated whack jobs", care to substantiate that claim? I hyperlinked that big word for you, bc based on the IQ displayed in your post you will certianly need it.

Agreed. You will get people who will call the whole names and on and on and on. Blah blah blah. But the same can be said, about your OP, for virtually all groups. Liberals, civil rights activists, and on and on.

It is unfair to judge the whole by the actions of the few but alas, that is what the media and others want. It's the easiest way to destroy a group in the minds of us 'normal' people.

Your absolutely right, this goes for all groups who are being portrayed as something they do not represent based on actions of few.

Wanna see the origins of your TPM? Want to see the core base?

Here it is.

Want to bet these are the same people currently at Tea Party Protests?

A great example is the typical plant. There are some libs at these tea parties who go in acting as tea party members and make complete fools of themselves to make the party look bad. Then the same thing happens during liberal protests when police officers enter the crowd dressed as protesters and incite violence so the riot police have a reason to quelch the protest.

It has happened before and will happen again and again.

Are there loons in the tea party that are actually true tea party memebers? Sure. The same can be said for every group out there.

The problem for the 'Tea-Party', which is in the main disaffected republicans (and, yeah, not all), is that the rhetoric has been ramped up ever since the election campaign itself.

The current situation is little more than the progression of the McCain campaign and the party's media proxies. And, indeed, republican politicians themselves are still feeding and encouraging the 'Bad apples'.

Using such right-wing populism is certainly one way to re-energise the base, but there were obvious consequences that are coming to fruition.

Great post, but it plays second fiddle to your avatar! That may be the best one I have seen on this site!

I wonder, do you really believe that represents the core base of the Tea Party members? If so you are either grossly misinformed, or just not that bright. I'm sorry for the harsh words, but generalizations like that have reek of ignorange.

For the most part, those Tea Party members I have talked to are ultra conservative and very racist. Namely, they are mad because Obama, a black man, is now President and that the conservative agenda is being seen for what it really stands for. Spin it anyway you want, but I have seen maybe 3-4 non-whites at these rallies. Like I stated previously, I have talked to several of these people while they were protesting (I live near and work in DC). Their so-called leadership will not hint at their real intentions but will spill the beans when you gain their confidence. I find the entire movement much less than patriotic and geared more towards fascist insurrection.

The tea one I attended was a gathering of like minded individuals from all parties peacefully protesting, just like our constitution allows.

I don't buy this for a second. You are either making this up or talking to the wrong people. I saw absolutely NO sign of racism, and the crowd turned on the Republican who tried to use the gathering to his political advantage.

The bad apples are feds, Its a common tactic to get the people to attack each other.

Google fbi cointelpro.

A small group of federal employees scared of the citizens get together and try to influence public opinion by posing as the targeted group and behaving in a derogatory way to mis-characterize the group.

That IS the core base for the TPM, those were McCain/Palin Supporters protesting at a rally in Colorado during the last election, where did you think the TPM came from?

People didn't all of a sudden one day say "HEY! I know! We don't like this government spending stuff, so we should organize and protest." It started from a bunch of people who thought they too were "Mavericks" within the GOP. The ultra right wing conservative base.

These are the same people who believe that Obama is a Socialist, Kenyan born, Muslim, Terrorist, reincarnation of Hitler, who might actually be the Antichrist.

Of course I am not saying that every single TPM is like that, I am sure there are a number of people that are genuinely sick of Taxes, (even though taxes for the majority of Americans have gone down because of Obama tax cuts) Maybe they are pissed because of the tax cuts, I don't know.
