Amatuer pictures of Earth from Space

Sorry not sure if this is going to be a duplicate post, but I found this article quite cool.


It seems like we all could take amateur Nasa-style photos of earth, really chaep to do.

Well actually near space but really cool to think we all could take photos like that.

Cool photos, but how far away did the camera fall when it's 22 miles up and it probably took hours to get up that high? Even with a tracking device he was still lucky to recover it.

22 miles - or 116,160 feet !

He only used a Canaon Sure Shot camera and tracked the device by gps used the car SatNav to track it as it fell by parachute back to earth.

All for only £500 !!!!

Actually from the article

Mr Harrison has recovered it from up to 50 miles away.

I would have thought it could have been even more, given winds up there.
