GAUHATI, India (AP) - The Indian military has a new weapon against terrorism: the world's hottest chili.

After conducting tests, the military has decided to use the thumb-sized "bhut jolokia," or "ghost chili," to make tear gas-like hand grenades to immobilize suspects, defense officials said Tuesday.

I thought i'd pass this along to my fellow ATSers. For those who have heard that Habanero chilis are the hottest... wrong! We had a medium sized tupperware container of salsa here at work not long ago. The entire container of salsa had 1/2 teaspoon of "ghost chili" powder (according to the person who made it), and it was damn hot. I doubt many would have been able to eat the salsa had it contained a full teaspoon of that stuff.

I'm not surprised the Indian military is going to turn it into some sort of tear gas. I bet they could also use it to interrogate terrorists... "tell me where bin laden is or you get more chips n' salsa..." Noooooooo
