Yes it was... however there are a few documents reguarding the plane. So there is some proof it exists on paper.

in the movie with the switchblade, i believe one characters name is Kelly Robinson. It might just be me, but isnt that the first name of Kelly Johnson?

Suppposedly the idea is real, but it hasn't been created yet. If you want to read more into it there was a "Popular Science" magazine in the last few years, and on the front cover was the Switchblade. There was a full story in that month's magazine.

The Switchblade rumour came out of a Patent design filed by Northrop Grumman. It is now rumoured to be a joint project of Northrop and Lockheed-Martin

The Bird Of Prey is an entirely different project as it was a Boeing in-house project, not a Northrop project.

what better way to make it look like its not real than put it in a movie and say its only for the movie and I don't know if any of you watched the history channel last night on stealth and beyond but they said the pentagon has 16 black aircraft awaiting to be diss classified this could be one of those.
