Again, you don't understand how these systems work. You support them because you allow your emotion to cloud your reason.

This is the case with most liberals.

S.S. and Medicare are pyramid schemes and this is why they are going broke.

I could support these programs if the money collected in taxes was not spent by our government and replaced by I.O.U.'s. You are stuck on evil corporations but these same evil corporations allow us to have a strong middle class and have a 14.2 trillion dollar economy.

Big government and massive debt are destroying this country in a global economy with cheap labor. There's not enough jobs or the kind of jobs to sustain this massive debt. The President talks about green jobs but green jobs are not magic jobs. They are not immune to free trade. Liberals want everyone to drive the kind of cars that they want you to drive and use energy like them.

22,000 Green jobs were shipped over to India.

BANGALORE: As the Obama government gets ready to raise a protectionist wall against offshoring, the US firms seem to be shipping more jobs to India.

The US firms have offshored 22,000 green technology jobs to India since January 1, 2009, Doug Brown, co-author of the influential 2009 Green Outsourcing Report, informed TNIE.

“We see the (green job offshoring) trend increasing as the US and the UK outsourcing buyers are seeking lower cost in labour and energy consumption. There are few suppliers who match credentials and outcomes of Indian firms,” he said.

Noting an interesting irony the authors of the report say, “In the US, green stimulus plan is creating low-wage installation and construction jobs.” But, in India, which is usually associated with cheap and low-skill work, “…New green jobs include higher dollar engineers, strategic business management and support technicians charged with designing innovative environmental friendly solutions,” they add.

Like I said, green jobs are not magic jobs but liberals will destroy the economy in favor of their emotions and in the name of saving the planet. Liberals will always need emotion to cover up their silly plans.

In a global economy with cheap labor we have to switch to a consumer based society vs a producer based economy. This is because of cheap labor. The President wants a big union, big government based economy and this will bankrupt the country. We need a small, limited government in a global economy with cheap labor.

Back to the pyramid schemes.

S.S. and Medicare depend on workers paying into the system and paying out benefits to those at the top of the pyramid.

There isn't any money in the S.S. trust fund. It's just government I.O.U.'s. These programs were projected to reduce the debt just like Obamacre and we know this is a joke.

Entitlement programs don't reduce the debt because of governments spending the money that they collect that's supposed to be used for these programs.

Social Security to start cashing Uncle Sam's IOUs

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – The retirement nest egg of an entire generation is stashed away in this small town along the Ohio River: $2.5 trillion in IOUs from the federal government, payable to the Social Security Administration.

It's time to start cashing them in.

For more than two decades, Social Security collected more money in payroll taxes than it paid out in benefits — billions more each year.

Not anymore. This year, for the first time since the 1980s, when Congress last overhauled Social Security, the retirement program is projected to pay out more in benefits than it collects in taxes — nearly $29 billion more.

Sounds like a good time to start tapping the nest egg. Too bad the federal government already spent that money over the years on other programs, preferring to borrow from Social Security rather than foreign creditors. In return, the Treasury Department issued a stack of IOUs — in the form of Treasury bonds — which are kept in a nondescript office building just down the street from Parkersburg's municipal offices.

Now the government will have to borrow even more money, much of it abroad, to start paying back the IOUs, and the timing couldn't be worse. The government is projected to post a record $1.5 trillion budget deficit this year, followed by trillion dollar deficits for years to come.

Social Security's shortfall will not affect current benefits. As long as the IOUs last, benefits will keep flowing. But experts say it is a warning sign that the program's finances are deteriorating. Social Security is projected to drain its trust funds by 2037 unless Congress acts, and there's concern that the looming crisis will lead to reduced benefits.

"This is not just a wake-up call, this is it. We're here," said Mary Johnson, a policy analyst with The Senior Citizens League, an advocacy group. "We are not going to be able to put it off any more."

For more than two decades, regardless of which political party was in power, Congress has been accused of raiding the Social Security trust funds to pay for other programs, masking the size of the budget deficit.

It goes on to make this point.

Social Security's financial problems have been looming for years as the nation's 78 million baby boomers approached retirement age. The oldest are already there. As that huge group of people starts collecting benefits — and stops paying payroll taxes — Social Security's trust funds will shrink, running out of money by 2037, according to the latest projection from the trustees who oversee the program.

This is the same thing with Medicare and it will be the same thing with Obamacare.

This is exactly what I'm saying. These programs are pyramid schemes and when people start living longer then the top of the pyramid will widen and the system will crash.

This is why Al Gore kept talking about a "lockbox" and others want to put S.S. funds in secure bonds so government can't touch it.

What Obamacre is designed to do is "reduce the volume" in healthcare. This means rationing healthcare in order to try and close the top of the pyramid. They also want to mandate and force people into this broken system.

You talk about the evil insurance companies but they will make the most money from Obamacare. This is because the government is forcing us to buy their products. If the government was to mandate that we all buy GM cars the GM executives would be throwing a party.

The reason Obama wants to mandate people into the system is because he needs more people at the bottom of the pyramid to pay the benefits to those at the top of the pyramid. So their will be millions who have to enroll in government programs like Medicaid and their will be millions who are forced to buy insurance from private companies.

Again, politicians layer these things in lies on top of lies and they depend on people like you to be lead by emotion and never get past the surface.

It has nothing to do with being a Nazi.

What the Hitler quote shows is that stupid people back then fell for the lies just like stupid people of today. The governments of the day follow the same playbook and we need to Thank God we have a Constitution that ties the hands of these crooks in Washington.

That's why when Obama says the Constitution is fundamentally flawed because it "restrains" government it raises all kinds of red flags.

The government collects more capital and wealth from the people then anyone, maybe, but steals?

Collects? I don't remember telling the IRS, " I just got paid, can you come by and collect it? " You make it sound like the weekly garbage. I call it stealing, because I had no say so in it, they just take it.

Exactly,

The government steals from us and future generations but sadly we have useful idiots in this country that think the government is pure and they should control every aspect of our lives.

They are now going to force folks to buy insurance and they are hiring thousands of IRS agents.

Health Care Mandate to Be Enforced by IRS ‘Bounty Hunters’

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”—C. S. Lewis (1898 - 1963)

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will see its largest expansion since withholding taxes were first enacted during WWII to enforce the glut of new tax mandates and penalties included in the Democrats’ latest health care plan, according to Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX)

A new analysis by the Joint Economic Committee and the House Ways & Means Committee minority staff estimates up to 16,500 new IRS personnel will be needed to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses in the ‘reconciliation’ bill being taken up by the U.S. House of Representatives this weekend, according to Brady.

“When most people think of health care reform they think of more doctors exams, not more IRS exams,” says U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady, the top House Republican on the Joint Economic Committee. “Isn’t the federal government already intruding enough into our lives? We need thousands of new doctors and nurses in America, not thousands more IRS agents.”

Scores of new federal mandates and fifteen different tax increases totaling $400 billion are imposed under the Democratic House bill. In addition to more complicated tax returns, families and small businesses will be forced to reveal further tax information to the IRS, provide proof of ‘government approved’ health care and submit detailed sales information to comply with new excise taxes.

Unfortunately, according to the Center for American Progress, the structure of the IRS’ use of private agencies to collect “debts” encourages abuse. Under the current program, collectors are awarded as much as 25 cents of every dollar they collect, in addition to a $100 bonus for every account they close.

The quote from C.S. Lewis needs to be stated again:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”—C. S. Lewis (1898 - 1963)

This is what America is facing.

We are facing a liberal/progressive ideology that wants to dictate to the rest of us how we should live our lives.

This is why the Founders restrained government because they didn't want one man or an out of control government telling people how to live.

When Obama says the Constitution is fundamentally flawed because it "restrains" government that's truly an anti-American statement.

He wants to "break free" of these restraints so he can impose is ideology onto everyone in the Country.

America is in trouble and that'sa why I say we have to hold our nose and vote for every Republican on the ballot in November. We have to have a divided government which will mean that Obama has to moderate his radical positions.

Divided government works best. It did't work with Bush, Hastert and Frisk and it's not working with Obama, Pelosi and Reid.

Their radical, far left ideology will destroy this country.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the US Political Madness forum was supposed to be about non-partisan political issues, and that divisive or "liberal vs. conservative" debate was supposed to be left to the Political Rivalry forum. This is discussed in a stickied thread in this very forum: The Political Madness Forum Is Not For Partisan Debate/.

These threads add nothing to constructive debate and will nearly always end in democrat vs. republican or liberal vs. conservative shouting matches.

Better yet, let's get over the whole political bifurcation in this country and realize that NO ONE IN WASHINGTON IS ON YOUR SIDE. The two-party system is simply an elaborate charade designed to further divide U.S. citizens from each other in an effort to establish more control and power. 'Nuff said.
