This is brought to you by someone who is adamantly against Universal Healthcare. The government is going ahead and passing this current bill which will start taxing us immediately. Contrary to what any politician says, premiums will go up. On top of that, federal funding will go to the lower class to insure them. Meanwhile they are cutting medicare by 500billion somehow, and insurance companies profits are going to skyrocket. We obviously aren't going to do anything about it so let me have free healthcare. I mean rationing aside at least the insurance companies won't be milking us, right? I don't see our states letting us buy across state lines to make it any cheaper to buy insurance. Well here is to us joining the rest of the civilized world. Moderation is key in all things successful. The political arena won't allow them to find common ground and make something that is better so lets just go to universal healthcare. It is the only common sense thing, and good luck to everyone who thinks that the republicans are gonna repeal this. By Nov this will be forgotten about.

So now you see why this thing was passed, They know the truth of it, they knew it was a crock, they want the Single Payer System, and this is how they will get it.

From what I understand this package is very similar to universal health care... the main feature of the package seems to be that Medicare is going be dramatically expanded to include everyone who cannot afford health insurance... which would explain the additional $107 billion in taxes per year to start with and more down the road.

I don't see why you would want to be enthusiastic therefore about the program expanded to include the middle class. If the lack of affordability from the middle class offends you, start an insurance cooperative rather than looking for a disease-ridden government solution.

We all want universal health care.

Some of us just don't realize it yet.

Hopefully this bill will push the stragglers in the right direction.

And for a Nation who has the 2nd, largest land mass out there there is only 36 Million of them or so? No thanks keep it, if it works for you great.

Really? You used the guy who'se the premier of NL?

Laughable. He went cause he has the MONEY to pay for the kind of care that 95% of Americans can't afford.

You aren't any better off than I am my friend.

I somehow don't understand how having A LOT of land with a small population is a problem, that usually leads to more freedom...

Ohh well to each his own I guess.

Right your Premier comes to the US to get treatment, but I thought your Health System was vastly superior to ours? I mean what does that say when this guy comes down here to get worked on by our heathen Doctors?

The land mass thing was a jive at how freaking cold it is there.

Wrong. Universal health care involves theft of other people's money. None of us want universal health care and we just don't realize it yet. Taking without permission is theft. Universal health care inovles theft. Therefore, Universal health care is wrong.

Generosity is not generosity when it is forced. In fact, your idea of this forced "generosity" is slavery, plain and simple. If so many really want universal health care, then get them together and volunteer to pay for it! Because if you aren't able to do that, then clearly universal health care is NOT what people want. If people want something, they'll pay for it. If they don't want something, they'll FORCE OTHERS to pay for it using THEFT. And that is the position you are in right now... stealing from others due due to you being wrong but claiming to be right using the argument of physical force.

It is vastly superior to ours... for 99.8 percent of the population.

The people with bags and bags of money are obviously going to pay for the best doctors in the world, be they in the US, Canada, Thailand, Norway... wherever. It's really a moot comparison.

Now, if we had Universal healthcare here in the US, regular folks like you and me might actually get a shot at seeing some of those amazing doctors.

Im gonna agree with you over the cold thing lol.

As for the reason, it's because you can't just pay a doctor in Canada to get put at the front of line. You have to wait like anybody else, regardless if your a politician, lawyer or somebody on welfare. It's actually a fair system.

Strange isn't it?

It's not about the quality of care, it's about the availability of specialist doctors and the politicans who want to get stuff done now versus waiting like everybody else.

I've never said our system was superior, although I think it is in the general aspect, but it goes without saying that the US is one of the most advanced nations when it comes to Medical Tech and Quality.

It's just horribly managed. Ours is managed....adequately, but not greatly.

It may work for Canada and that is great. If we could have a health system here that works like yours that is great. But here the thing, I get sick I call my doctor he fits me in. I dont have to wait a month (like they do at the VA) to get seen. I need to see a spealicist I dont have to wait 6 months, two weeks at the most... I want to keep it that way and I am not sure you can do that with this bill here in the US.

I dont mind helping out people in there time of need, but when you have welfare rats who abuse the system, or junkies who refuse to get off the dope after tax payer finded programs dont work, that is where I draw the line..

I've got it and its brilliant. Not a complaint about anything I have had. I have absolutely no worries about any health care I might need. My friend had a car accident and came out with two new hips and a new knee. My dad has had two new knees.

The cost? A huge
7% of earned income. And some narrow minded US citizens call that theft. I call it a bargain. The only thieves are the US insurance companies and the victims are the folks paying through the nose for their health care.

The only western democracy without universal healthcare! Wake up..........

That's really what it breaks down into...

People who have never had a major health issue think Universal Care is theft.

People who have actually had to deal with the insurance companies think private insurance is theft.

It's just a simple case of learning from experience. We all need a helping hand once in a while. It's the people who haven't been there that think they can fend for themselves for the rest of their lives.
