It's very simple, we cannot afford this bill. All we are doing is borrowing and printing more fiat currency to finance pointless wars that our "peaceful" president has kept going. Healthcare for all would be great, but this is not the answer. Here is an idea: Stop the wars and use the billions saved to do some good in this country. But I doubt the military industrial complex would allow that to happen, killing people far away is way too profitable.

It is perhaps not the system, but the people accepting an easy escape route out of there inability to create freedom. You can move where you like can you not, visit whom or where ever, say respectfuly what you choose.

You are referring to capitalism, it is not the fault of the system that you cannot create your own way in which to leave your contraints. It is simple really, build a method which brings you a desired income and go live the life you want. Or, simply jog off to a rain forest and setup camp an live a free life. Many other options, just stop being such a quitter and stop spending your time blaming 'the system.'

Half of you 'we are slaves' whiners are simply misdirecting your own inability onto somewhere else. Blame yourself for not being able to look outside the box molded for the sheeple, create, design, envisage a way out. Anyone would think humans are done with inventing new ways to provide for themselves.

And your peace and love closing line is rediculous considering the way in which you chose to reply to an author posing questions. Study those few words a little harder, mean them instead of creating a fake ATS persona for yourself.

Now, deny ignorance... I won't.

With all due respect. I was simply pointing out the difficulties presented to the "sheeple". (rather inappropriate term, smacks of pretention) I am happy for you if you are comfortable with your superior view of yourself. It is good to have a wll established self image. Please however, remember that none is above or below, all is the same. It's very hard to break out of the Matrix. It is hard to escape the system devised to make leaving a difficulty. I think that your view of your situation and eveyone else's is somewhat askew. It is your veiw. You have a right to it. I for one support your right to hold onto it dearly. We all make our choices. If one moves, one only changes their location and not the situation. How bout you? Have you stole yourself away to some secluded encampment back in ole Blighty? I hope so. Your commentary in my view, blames the victim(s). Liken to blaming a rape victim because they were dressing provocatively. There is the ability to move, associate with where we choose, therein lies the term "free range". Slavery none the less and the noose gets tighter every day(the Health care bill). I am think it brilliant that you are so happy in your Britishness. I too am very fond of tea and crumpets. (there's nothing better in the World than an English breakfast or bangers and mash...and the beer or course!)Hopefully, we will all be able to rise above all of our absurd flag waving. P.S. I can assure you that nothing that I do is fake.
So...a double dose of Peace and Love to you!
There!!...NAMASTE!...yeh take that NAMASTE! How'd ja like them apples?

The only reason most Americans can't afford it IMO is becaus they spend money frivolously and don't budget funds to the things that matter.

Health Care should be one of those things that matters.

Like I said if you spend 1000$ a month on junk and then complain about having to pay for Healthcare, you have foot in mouth disease.

ummm....ya, a few years back, I started with a job that provided healthcare. hurt my foot at work, so went to the doctor to see what was the matter.....the cost of the constant doctor's visits, the xrays, the drugs, the ohysical therapy, then my husband got laid off, well, by the time I was done, I found myself without enough money to even get to work, was having trouble at work walking, and well, finally ending up just quitting the job when my husband got another job. went about six months after that without a car to get around (couldn't afford a second car without my job and hubby had the first car all the time) so here I go limping 7 miles into town to find another job that isn't so darned phycially demanding)...went on like this till the bones finally snapped!!! then, well, go nuts for close to a week trying to figure out how to come up with the thousands of dollars the specialist wanted to set the thing....
all the while of course, the newspapers were filled with cries from the federal, the state, the local governments about how they need to raise this or that tax, charge more for this or that fee or service, always pointing to "the cost of medicaid" as the reason!!!
newsflash!!! t here was no $1000 worth of munchies being consumed in our home!! most of the time I was eating every other day just to make sure everyone else had enough to eat! my son ended up quitting school, because I couldn't come up with a lousey extra $20 so that he could had clothes that fit him so he could go to school!!
the guidelines for NY state's child helath plus can be found here....

www.health.state.ny.us...

my family wasn't even bringing in $2,000/mo then, and well, they were gonna leave me laying in a bed permenantly crippled all the while demanding more from my family to pay for this!!

the gov't has no right to pick and chose who is worthy, or should or shouldn't be helped!! give me the affordable healthcare, then I will consider allowing these people to take more of my money!!
A BROKEN BONE SHOULDN'T COST TWICE MY YEARLY INCOME TO REPAIR ANYWAYS!!!

and...um...health insurance IS NOT health care!!! try getting sick, or hurt, and well, you will see what I mean!

Workers in the USA have been brainwashed into believing they have to work themselves to death, get fewer paid vacations than any other industrialized nation and get nothing back from their government other than wars and big brother.

Unbridled corporate interests have systematically destroyed and demoralized the middle class and made them feel unpatriotic for expecting something back in return - in the form of health and safety, the common good, efficient, moral and cost effective services (universal health care or Medicare for all)...anything good for all the taxes we have paid, all the wars we have fought and the family members we have lost. We have shown loyalty and love for our country. We have worked our a**es off and have an extremely high rate of productivity. It's a shame so many have bought into this insane and backward notion of patriotism as dog eat dog and every man for himself.

Thank you for this. It really is a case where the American citizen has been programmed to give his/her life to advance the interest of the corporate elite, while viewing the simple and natural act of caring for one another as Socialism and unpatriotic.

I hate that my country strives to be the largest and richest banana republic on the planet, and kills on a prodigious level to force its bizarre view of Lord of the Flies competition as the will of God on the rest of the planet. Nothing good has ever come to any world power that has sought to accomplish this.

This subject actually does belong in a psychology forum, since it is the burned-in psychology of this society that enables less than 1% of the society to force the 99% of the society to work feverishly against its own best interest. When viewed from the outside, it's pretty stunning.

I pay for my own healthcare. I am very happy with what I have. Do you think for even one moment that our Government has the American people's best interest at heart? HA HA HA... This healthcare they are demanding we get from them will be crap. Today I can call my doctor and see her TODAY... Pay my co-pay of $20.00 and be on my way. do I want the IRS demanding I have OBAMA's idea of healthcare or pay the price in findes and pentalties if I do not?

Sure enough $20 is not what you actually pay for the whole visit?

Whether you have enough dough to buy an insurance policy for your family outright, or via a sponsored plan, you won't have IRS demanding anything else from you.

NO!!!. No one in America is turned away from a hospital if they are sick, whether they can pay or not.

Seems like you are unfamiliar with concept of preventive care.

Medicare, Medicade, are there for the elderly and the poor

Thank God for these. I'm not a recipient of either.

How come you trust greedy insurance companies execs more than you do the Govt? This is just laughable.
