It will benefit border jumpers from Mexico, it's free for them. Congress will have much to gloat and grave-dance about - members of the house and senate, their families and staffs are exempt from the new socialized medicine law.

And, can anyone explain, why you have to pay for insurance?, rather than just paying for universal healthcare through a tax system that all citizens pay like we do here in the UK?
Yes, it's called income redistribution. In addition to tax dollars, middle class and above citizens (with income over a certain amount) will have to pay a premium of approximately 200% of what they pay now for private health insurance. Illegal aliens and lower income people will be exempt from the premium requirement.

Middle class Americans who disobey the obamacare law will face heavy fines followed by imprisonment up to 5 years - ie. failure to enroll, failure to accept the veri-chip chip implant, failure to pay the premiums.

The congress has been conducting war against the middle class for years, this becomes a major victory - expect much gloating and grave-dancing as they, and the mainstream press, celebrate.

Next up is Sen. John Cornyn's amnesty bill for 39 million illegals.

One small point, if I may, the obamacare law is illegal and unconstitutional.

I dunno I heard about court challenges. And it doesn't come into force for a while. So we're gonna be stuck with it for a while longer I think.

I wonder if the same oposition existed when the NHS was created in Britain?

Yes there was it seems but given the date I can hardly see there being any real public opposition to idea except from doctors and health professionals.

The Health Insurance Bill 1973 and the accompanying bills were rejected by the Senate on three occasions (12 December 1973, 2 April 1974 and 18 July 1974) but were subsequently passed at a joint sitting of both Houses (7 August 1974) following a double dissolution election.

And this is about the Australian system. Which still didn't actually become Medicare until 1984 under a different government.

Illegal aliens and lower income people will be exempt from the premium requirement.

Are these people humans?
Were they taken care of medically previously?
Will more people receive health care than previously?

Have you read any of the bill or have you just been watching FOXNEWS all night for your provably wrong information?

Doesn't pay for immigrants. That's just a simple fact.. What happens to immigrants now, do you think? Hospitals HAVE to treat them anyway. Who pays their bills now? WE DO. Its already social buddy! And a horrible way to direct our dollars.

Your information on premiums you must have just made up, honestly, because that's absurd beyond words.

Bill says nothing about Veri-chips... At all. So you made that up again.

And you should be fined for not paying a little out of pocket for your health insurance! Know why? Because its stupid and irresponsible to allow taxpayers to pay for your dumb uninsured self when you can't afford a 200,000 dollar hospital bill.

These fear threads are pathetic to a point it makes me fume.

This wasn't intended as a fear thread, I'm from the UK and have no vested interest in your health care system. i was just interested to see if it was going to be beneficial to any American members. All I see and here is negative reporting on the Bill, but as someone who benefits from a national health service in my country, I wondered if anyone on here would benefit in America. The thread was based on curiosity rather than anything else,

Right, I'm sorry. But the overwhelming negativity on this board is making me sick. If you read the bill, you'll see that most people are only rehashing old conspiracy theories and acting like they are part of the bill.

Its not perfect by any means, but it can be amended once in place. I for one, am a proud american today, because finally the government did something for its people, even if some of the more ignorant ones don't get it yet.

Will you need insurance after the new Bill is passed ? Or will you be able to simply attend doctors and hospitals for 'free' (actually paid via a 2.5% levy based on your income) and receive the treatment you need ?
