If this did happen through ATS and the add ran on a GB re-run, I'd be willing to bet someone on MSM would catch it, give ATS advertising (in an unfavorable light) and then really bash the crap out of Beck for all the nutjobs that advertise on his show.

What I am more interested in is how much Google actually checks these ads before they get aired.
Basically what kind of stuff can get through their filters and what cannot? This is seeming to be awfully loose for the FCC to allow.

Google tv ads... I like. Maybe I'll give it a try some day.

OMG that is awesome. I totally agree with ATS doing a run for a TV ad and if it cant afford it itself, then perhaps doing a donation run or something? i mean $1300 is not much for showing like 54 times and reaching another 1.4 million viewers?

There are some really creative and well informed people on ATS.
I couldn't make a video, but I would gladly donate to an AD campaign to get a competition winners advert on air! (honestly, I would! I think that should be a yearly comp or some such event. If more money is raised maybe 2nd place could air too. The ideas are endless.) Someone with some organizational skills needs to look into the viability of this.

There is no filter in cable news and that goes for the guests on all of the public affairs shows.

Next time you watch Oreilly or Matthews, research some of the middle east "experts." Some are Brrokings or Cato Insttute but many are 1 man operations working for PACs like AIPAC.

They are not "vetted." There are no truth police standing off camera. They can spew out pure lies and if the host doesn't know the details, it flies.

People tend to be suspicious of adverts but trust what is said by the talking heads. They are worse than the trolls on ATS.

Im still wondering about googles role in all this. so have they just gone around and bought random spots on all the cable networks hoping that people will buy ad time? if the people dont buy the time like they hope they will, we will see alot more ads for google and other google owned companies.

As always, if you have a product that doesnt need to go national, like a home business, your best bet is to buy time with a local station, but a national campaign would be good for a business that ships all of its products, or yes even for a website like ATS

people are programed to distrust everything on the internet and believe everything they see on TV, being refered to something via TV lends credibility.
