Young Men Disappearing from Palestine

By – Paulette Schroeder -I am most concerned these recent weeks in Hebron. Young teens and even smaller children are disappearing from our neighborhood in the Old City of Hebron. It’s not by kidnapping. It’s not by trafficking. It’s not an unknown person with a criminal record perpetrating the crimes. Rather, the Israeli military is again pressing its boots down harder on the heads of the Palestinian people. If restrictions on travel and commerce, land confiscations, home invasions, and forced business closures have not succeeded in convincing Palestinian families to leave their land, then MAYBE taking their children will.

There are to many issues to deal with, given the tensions on both sides it will only take one accident to escalate the tensions further.

Unless a method is found to contain this build up someone will snap, something will go wrong and the situation will be beyond control.

My personal opinion is the only thing holding both sides back is the media spin of *not* being the side to have started the mess that follows any escalation.

World opinion is quite unhinged on the issue of rights and wrongs with the spin coming thick and fast from both camps muddling the issues further.

I honestly dread to think where this is going..

Well i'd like to say this will end soon and i truly hope it does but it will not because as the saying goes "An eye for an eye makes the world blind" that's true on a deeper level as well with the eyes signifying the viewpoints of the 2 sides and how propoganda is the enemy of truth. Wait .....what?

If an Israeli soldier died then things are going to get a hell of a lot worse and quick. I am not saying that an Israeli soldier is worth more than a Palestinian in anyway way because that is not true but the IDF take casualties VERY seriously and may escalate things. I pray the report was false.

Apparently it was FF that killed the soldier -

Cleared for publication: An Israel Defense Forces soldier was killed Monday near the border fence in the Kissufim area, apparently as a result of friendly fire by a Golani force. (Hanan Greenberg)

Israeli soldier was killed by friendly fire accident, Palestinians were unarmed and were arrested unharmed. So i doubt that it will be the cause of escalation. Rockets that do not stop - might be.

Exactly just look at the 2006 war with hezbollah all it took was a few mines and captured soldiers to bring the region into utter chaos. Hopefully this was an isolated incident with non hamas members.

Nope. What caused 2006 war was

The fighting on the Lebanese border erupted around 9 a.m., when Hezbollah attacked several Israeli towns with rocket fire, wounding several civilians, the Israeli military said.

But that attack was a diversion for the main operation, several miles to the east, where Hezbollah militants fired antitank missiles at two armored Humvees patrolling the Israeli side of the border fence, the military said. Of the seven soldiers in the two jeeps, three were killed, two were wounded and two were abducted, the military said.

www.nytimes.com...
So it was not few mines and abducted soldiers. It was rockets on Israeli towns, unprovoked. And it was attack on Israeli military convoy.

Is exactly what i said if the soldiers hadn't been captured Israel wouldn't have gone after them thus causing the war.

We know that, any day now they'll be giving warnings to stop or the consequences will become more severe. The same type of warnings they gave on 25th Dec. 2008 - "Stop the rockets or pay the price, Israel is stronger and will smash Hamas etc etc etc"

How many times must history repeat itself.
