March 21 (Bloomberg) -- China was forced to buy helicopter parts needed for rescue work after the 2008 Sichuan earthquake from Russia because of U.S. restrictions on technology exports, the country’s commerce minister said today.

Chen Deming said he contacted the U.S. Commerce Department on buying helicopter engines to aid rescue efforts after the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, but was told to wait for permission from the defense ministry. He never heard back, and China bought Russian engines...

Just few days ago first Chinese helicopter made its maiden flight... Because of this? Sure timing of these reports raises that kind of reason.

Looks like China and USA relations are falling to deeper abyss. Reports like this, where USA is refusing to sell stuff to China, gives me a creepy feeling from outcome of this battle...

China will make their owns, and they are forced to make even deeper cooperation with Russia, who are always enjoying and making great deals and money, when USA starts their blockades around the world.

But as we all know, still USA needs what China has to offer for regular consumers.
