Report: Netanyahu to ask Obama for weapons to strike Iran

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will use a visit to Washington this week to press the U.S. to release advanced weapons needed for a possible strike on Iran's nuclear sites, the Sunday Times reported.

Ahead of his departure Sunday night, Netanyahu bowed to U.S. demands and promised the administration of U.S President Barack Obama that Israel will make several goodwill gestures toward the Palestinians.

This may be just more propaganda. I believe Israel is well equipped right now without having to ask Obama for anything. Why would they have to ask for weapons when we keep them stocked already?

While Netanyahu is asking for weapons to attack Iran, he will be no doubt assessing how Obama responds relative to the request for weapons.

I have long felt since the disclosure of the bunker buster missiles that someone was providing the weapons to Israel without Obama's knowledge or approval. When Obama found out, he of course disallowed any such transfer and the fact that he found Israel trying to go behind his back while sadly realizing that in his own staff of Zionist Israeli dual citizens secretly authorized and shipped the weapons to where they were eventually discovered. This disclosure ever since has caused a rift that is causing many new issues to arise between Israel and Obama.

While Netanyahu is probably trying to make the issue go away while still getting the weapons, I can just hear Netanyahu threatening if he does not get them and I can just hear Obama threatening back for going behind his back and attempting to undermine the Obama agenda for the Middle East. I can see nothing meaningful coming out of any meeting between Obama and Netanyahu.

Time will tell, but as always, historically, whenever someone from Israel comes to America to meet with the president over Middle East issues, there is always some crisis that occurs while the Israeli Prime Minister is visiting the sitting presidency in order to coerce or intimidate the sitting presidency to do what Israel demands of our elected officials. Fear and intimidation are Israeli tools of politics that are used so often that I am certain Obama will not have any more of it and is going to make a point of it to Netanyahu's face.

This obvious staging of events to gain some leverage is going to get Israel annihilated, but then of course this deceptive ploy has worked so much in the past that Netanyahu does not see it as something that could turn into his worst nightmare. Meanwhile, Netanyahu is so arrogant in his belief that Israel controls America that he is going to make the biggest mistake of his political career in taking that approach with Obama.

Times are different and if Netanyahu can't wrap that fact around his brain then he alone will be the sole person who helps to bring death and destruction to Israel.

Israel conducting business as usual is only going to ensure the destruction of Israel and if Netanyahu does not understand this, then his visit will be for not.
He might as well stay in Israel, spend time with the family because the future of Israel is in jeopardy and in grave danger. Netanyahu's blatant disrespect for Obama's wishes is butting heads with Israeli politics and any Israeli demands for weapons which they should not obtain is only going to get Israel set up for destruction by Obama who needs a "Trixy" against Israel to garner support on a world basis for action taken against Israel when Israel attacks Iran.

It is my opinion and concern that Obama is going to do to Israel much like Bush did to Saddam Hussein in that Bush told Saddam is was OK to attack Kuwait and when he did, Bush invaded as acted as if some type of amnesia had set in about the go ahead. The fact that Bush lied to Saddam and then used his compliance under so called mutual interests to attack Iraq as a danger to Middle East peace is what I fear is going to happen to Israel.

If Obama gets his way, Israel will attack Iran for Obama and when Israel does, Obama is going to get amnesia and will then attack Israel to prevent them from being a Middle East danger to Israelis neighbors. The Israeli nuclear weapons for the time being are not being discussed, but you can bet that Obama has some ideas on whether Israel should possess nuclear weapons and I can just bet that Obama will raise this issue when Netanyahu visits Obama.

Afterwords I am certain that Netanyahu will consider Obama's request insane, but to consider Obama as insane is only going to ensure that whatever Obama does to Israel, it will be done with zeal and with intention to destroy Israel and mostly to show Israel that America no longer listens to Israel.

Shortly after Vice President Joe Biden's Israel visit ended on March 11 in high dudgeon over the approval 1,600 new homes in East Jerusalem, US president Barack Obama ordered a consignment of Joint Direct Attack Munition- JDAM already on its way to Israel to be diverted to the US Air Force base on the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia. This step, the pointer to a US arms embargo for preventing Israel attacking Iran's nuclear sites, is first revealed here by DEBKAfile's military sources.
US military sources describe the consignment as consisting of 387 JDAM kits for attachment to the warheads of 2,000-pound BLU-109/MK-84 or the 1,000-pound BLU-110/MK-83 bunker-busters for their conversion into smart bombs.
On March 13, DEBKAfile disclosed that the Obama administration was pondering withholding from Israel military hardware that could be used for an Israeli attack on Iran. In late February, we reported that defense minister Ehud Barak had submitted to defense secretary Robert Gates a list of the items Israel required urgently to stand up to a four-front assault by Iran and its allies - mainly air force ordnance, certain types of missile and advanced electronic devices. Barak made it clear that all these items must be present in Israel before the outbreak of hostilities. The requests were so urgent that the minister proposed that if Washington was reluctant to hand them directly to Israel, they could be stored for the interim in the big American emergency depots in Israel's Negev.
The 387 DJAP kits were due for delivery at one of the Israeli Air Force's Negev bases in March. Because of his concern over the US president's step to divert the shipment, prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu decided to take the defense minister with him to Washington next Monday, March 22 and have him present at the meeting with Obama which the US media reports has been fixed for Tuesday (the day after his address to the AIPAC annual conference). Together they will ask for the delayed munitions to be released and handed over as part of any general understandings they may reach.
DEBKAfile reports that the pair of Israeli Gulfstream Vs converted to spy planes sighted over Budapest on March 17 may have been an Israeli signal of its concern over White House measures for keeping the means of attacking Iran out of its hands.
The long-haul flights, demonstrating the Israel Air Force's ability to cover the distance to Iran, took the aircraft over Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania as well as Hungary. The two planes carried out maneuvers over Budapest international airport with no attempt at concealment.
Because they fly in pairs, Western aviation experts say the electronic measures aboard are able to detect the functioning of electronic devices, radar stations, communications centers and cell phones on the ground, locate them and relay the data for warplanes to destroy them.
Two years ago, in June 2008, Israel deployed more that 100 Air Force F-16 and F-15 warplanes over Greece and the Aegean Sea in a big exercise designed to showcase its long-range capabilities.
