I just read about Chris van Abkoude a Dutch writer of childrens books.

Later in life he moved to the US.

But his first book Pietje Bell ( written /published 1914 ) was still written right here in the Netherlands.

Now for the amazing part !
The cover of that book,

What do you think he holds in it's hands ?

Looks like a flatscreen to me.

Well... in 1914 electricity did not break through everywhere and the tv is from around 1930. Never ever a flatscreen anyway.

I don't think so...

Looks like a blackboard to me...With the felt chalk eraser attached by string or rope...

Well what's the book about? A translation of the title would at least let us determine if it's relevant to the front picture. I can't see how it wouldn't be relevant.

Is it about schoolchildren? Learning? Teaching?

pretty weak so far. yes a translation would be nice.

Pietje bell is the name of the main character.

It's just a street kid with a big mouth and a harte of gold and his adventures.

I Haven't read it. and I don't think I can translate it for ya. As it's illegal and against ATS rules. I did not found a link yet.

However it's about the drawing on the cover.

Ok guys let it be !!

I just found proof that it's NOT! proof.

On a different picture the wire looking thing ends op in a ball of well... wire or something.

It most definitely does NOT ! look like a electrical wire on it.

Nothing to see here. Just move along.

Sorry about that !
Just me getting enthusiastic :shk:

Sorry but I think you can "chalk" this up to an over-active imagination unless you are referring to his Sarah Palin wink or the Devil hand gesture.

I'm from Florida and am always leery of a person who wears black socks with shorts. Wreaks of a tourist and I don't mean from another time.

I agree with #2 poster, it is a blackboard with eraser dongle.

I'd be right there with ya if the kid had a universal remote in the other hand!

Unfortunately I think it's just a case of mistaken identity. Good catch though!

Not necessarily a physical time travel, 'cos many geniuses or history visualized stuffs through astral-travels in lucid dreams. Or even awake astral-travels. However ain't so sure about this object the boy is carrying on... Could be just a black board...

Ive seen much worse than your thread around here. I find your thread rather interesting. I wouldnt be so quick to dismiss it.

There is other interesting symbolism in the cover as well.

What really stands out to me,upon first glance, is the 'star of david' symbolism and the 'eye of horus' on the boy's face., so maybe there is something to see here...

Whoa, this site always delivers in the mind-blowing category. That IS a flat screen TV. I don't know if it's proof of time travel, but it's a darn good start. Why would a picture frame have an electrical cord? It doesn't make sense, unless it's a flat screen TV.

Chalkboard with eraser on a string:

Just sayin'. As for the further conjecture. Symbolism is omnipresent. (pareidolia)

And "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" as Einstein said.
