On another note... how does everyone feel about using stars for judging?

Do you feel it's a fair way to go?

I was a little disappointed at the lack of stars, though... was it because it was poetry or is there another reason?

Thoughts requested.

Without stars, how do you count the points?

I don't think there is enough people here that have time or effort to appreciate poetry/the arts. But that's just my observation.

Miraculous Spiral ♥ !
I don't see you around much anymore (since I can't access your profile page anymore)
ATS is so huge, one can get lost in it methinks.

I've thought about the Haiku thread. I will show up if I have a decent one!

Masqua, in response to your question above, I always thought a star contest would be a popularity contest, but clearly, according to who won the number one position in this one, it's not.

For contests of this nature, I think, great, because it doesn't take long to read the whole thread. But for the short story contest I'm not sure, and here is why: For fairness, all the stories would have to be read. That can be time consuming. Not sure readers would devote that kind of time to it.
A Judges panal DOES commit to reading all of them.

I guess we could try it and see......we could always go back to the panal if necessary. Whatever you decide to do suits me, of course.

*You know what might be fun insofar as a little contest like this one? A limerick contest. Limericks are my specialty! Fun-ness.

Anyway, thanks again Masqua for hosting this contest. It's been fun.

you shouldn't worry about that

if I only showed up when I thought I had a decent one - I would never show up at all

meaning - don't be afraid to suck

just show up

(I think it might be about the journey...or something equally as lame)

:-)

whaaa - I know you understand what I'm saying

the creative process - for some of us at least - is nothing short of painful

much of the time

OK - some of the time for sure

putting yourself on the line is not always easy

so - best to not think about it - just do it

sometimes it comes together - sometimes it so does not

but I can tell - there were people involved in this thread that have something to say, and they would really enjoy the back and forth

they should just do it
