So Israeli Arab citizens make up just over 20% of the total population of Isreal, this means that the vast majority of Israeli Jews support settlement expansion.

Why would Israeli Arabs be against new housing developments? Oh that's right, those "settlements" have NO ARABS ALLOWED signs on the gated entrances. Now that's what I call racism!

For me the issue is simple: what has Israel done for America lately? Even if you don't believe they were directly involved in 9/11 everyone agrees 9/11 was an indirect result of our support of Israel.

Thank you for showing the other side of this.

Too many people on ATS preach ignorant hatred, blaming all Jews and then even go so far as to say the Jews are not Jews. Like that justifies them being slaughtered.

Israel is a complex nation with diffrent Jewish factions, some secular and some religious. Lieberman, who is secular, is one of the most dangerous men in Israel. He should not be allowed in the government.

There are Israelis, both secular and especially religious who want peace.
I hope this helps some on ATS understand this fact.

In a parliamentary democracy, its very likely that a party that could poll 41-46% of the vote would form the "majority government". It doesn't matter tho. Even if more than 50% of a poll of jews only wanted to opt for a land for peace deal, there can be no peace so long as Israel has strategic value by its proximity to ME oil.
An actual peace would remove Israel's dependence on US military aid. That will never be allowed to happen, regardless of the rhetoric any US administration pours out on MSM. Besides, the Israel/Palastine mess is great for politicians at home too: any time there's a major problem that could not be addressed without admitting that the way our society works is not now, nor ever has been, fit for purpose, our "leaders" can distract us by demonstrating what fantastic statesmen they are with their "peacemaking" efforts.
