With all this new found excitement about the works on F.A. Hayek ECONSTORIES RAP VIDEO, I find it important to bring up his works on above politics. With Hayek, you inevitably find Ludwig Von Mises, another prominent Austrian School Economist. These two are the reason that the school of thought is called Austrian in the first place.

First, their ideas took off when Ron Paul came unto the scene. Now that the economy has tanked, and the Austrians were the ones to see it coming people have begun to open their eyes.

So now it is the critical time to get the word out. Keynesian(mainstream) Economics has repeatedly failed and yet our government continues carrying the flag of Lord Keynes. People are beginning to wake up. Not just economists, journalists, econ students, and politicians (Paul) are waking up, but America itself is feeling it. Every day people are looking at the world differently with every government misstep or malformed plan. What didn't work in the 1930's and the 1990's in Japan, won't work this time.

This week while I was going through Mises.org I found a cool cartoon, made in 1950 by (ironically) General Motors. YOUTUBE LINK It is of Hayek's book "The Road to Serfdom", which serves as a guide for our own diminishing freedoms. If anyone knows about post WWI Europe, it is basically a retelling of that, and it is quite scary to think that we are going down the same road.

Even though the media is largely blind to Austrian Economics, people are still out there advocating it. Go online, find the information and tell you family and friends. We are in a pivotal moment where mainstream politics, economics, and the media are all failing us, but we have been given the greatest tool for their destruction.

Right now, Ron Paul is the only mainstream advocate of Austrian Economics. Well, except for history, of course.
