Trust me, it's extremely difficult to do what these guys do. Whether you consider it a game or a sport doesn't matter. I've been playing the "game" for over thirty years and it can still frustrate me to no end.

tried my hand at golf a few years ago when I was young and fit.

Turned out I was pretty good at it, but 18 holes was really tiring even at 22.

Hand/eye co-ordination needed in abundance, judging distance, getting spin on the ball, chipping and putting are all very dificult skills.

If F1 racing is a sport, then so is golf.

As a slight aside, Sevvy used to be able to par his home town course playing on his knees or in a chair - that shows the skill level of the top guys...
