Well no actually, instead I well rephrase.

Gods are attributed to celestial bodies.

Attributed in what sense? Because in the sense which you immediately seem to mean, that is undeniable. Why do you think our planets are named "Venus", "Mars", "Jupiter," "Mercury," and so forth? Those are Gods. Gods whose characteristics and perhaps identities have been attributed to those planets. It happens in a lot of cultures. If that is what you mean, then what is your point? I am having trouble understanding the relevance to political leaders. Do you mean ancient political leaders?

For the most part yes. We are very primative if you think about it.

whose gods? from when?, yes planets do get represented as gods in mythology. Planets are alive in a way, though some may not appear to be in our dimension. Some see planets as the next layer up in bodies of consciousness, gods only to their inhabitants much like the sun is to the solar system and the super massive black hole is to the surrounding galaxy eminated from it. The heirachial tiers or fractals of god so to speak.

I am simply stating that the story of our creation was once told and understood by metaphors used to describe things happening in the BIG PICTURE, the Universe. Later on the truth happened to get into the hands of people who chose to use it for their own betterment at the cost of freedom.

Would you worship that which was created?

Or the God that created them?

You're a pagan.

Prove me wrong.

I worship no man but I would not consider myself pagan either.

The metaphors told explain celestial events that have happened in our galaxy.

Over time that information got in the wrong hands.

See that's not what you said at all really.

Now, would you care to explain at least some of the precise metaphors which describe precise celestial events, and how this information could possibly have been wrongly used by politicians?

That goes back ages but still happens every day.

9/11

Solomon's Pillars.

Tarot Cards.

They told the story before you were ever concieved, but how? How would they do that?

Yes and a very good point. The universe is for the most part based on magnetics.

You are naming events. You are not explaining. How are Solomon's Pillars and Tarot Cards connected to the stars, each other, or 9/11? The only connection I could think of is the card "The Tower", which consists in a single tower being destroyed; I think generally the image is of lightning, not a flying machine.

Could you please actually explain what you mean?

Yes. Solomons Pillars are used in various pieces of art and have a specific ratio which I think is 27/9. That ratio was also used in the WTC, eariler on the symbol was portrayed by Shakespeare as well as a theatre called the globe in which he conducted a society to act out comedy, tragedy and romance using "The whole world as a stage."

That is an arbitrary distinction as the Creation would be an extension of the Creator and simply part of the whole of everything. Also, with no creator evident it makes more sense to worship that which we know to exist than something which might be a construct of our imaginations.

As for the OP, I don't think the planets are sentient gods, I really don't think planets can become intelligent let alone wield Godlike powers. It is nice that the planets were named after gods, I just wish it had been the Greek names instead of the lame Roman names. I have a good understanding of the Universe, but not the question. What do you mean the planets are gods and what in the heck does that have to do with a bunch of scumbag politicians?

Well because the scumbag politicians are out, but the ones that are in are very few. The point is that it used to be common knowledge and now it is only knowledge of the social elite.

Knowledge of the night sky and the procession of the equinox over time (2600-year cycle) was very valuable, secret esoteric knowledge in ancient cultures (Egypt/China/Mayan Empire, etc.). Because they had a monopoly on this kind of knowledge, the priests could predict events like comets and eclipses, and use them to terrify and awe the dumb masses. The priests could predict an exlipse and then use ritual to "make it go away," which was a demonstration of their power and thus a tool to help them preserve the respect of the masses and the warrior classes.

Lots of myths encode this kind of celestial knowledge using secret imagery. It was a way for the priests to preserve and pass down their knowledge while keeping it secret. "Hidden in plain sight." The lurid and colorful imagery of mythology also was a memory technique that made the constellations, the equinox procession, and other features of the night sky easier to memorize. For example, "the twelve labors of Hercules" were references to the twelve constellations in the Zodiac. The bible (especially the new testament) is laced with dozens of references to astrology and astronomy. In fact, the Book of Revelations (while also serving other purposes) encodes a great deal of information about the way the constellations move over vast swathes of time. For example, "the woman clothed with the sun" = sun rising in the constellation of Virgo, while "riding on the beast" (located over the constellation Drago), etc. etc. Astrotheologists can and have unravelled the secrets.

I wouldn't go so far as to say this is the ONLY purpose of myths and sacred texts, but it plays a big role. These kinds of images are hidden like a code throughout myths of many different cultures.
