As you might understand by now, I am not voting anywhere near in favour of anything fundamenting the idea of the State of Israel. Firstly, only Judah is represented among the Jews today with legal rights to their part of the Land (the Cohenim or sons of Levi have no right to land in the Land) -- and in addition, the broad masses of Jews, are not even Shemites. Ashkenazim og Kazarim make up most of Israel's "Jewish" population, and they are not even Shemites. The only thing Jewish with most "Jews" today, has to do with religion. Gog of Magog anyone?

...well before I had awakend I was looking into the Galactic Wave which also got me interested in the Theory of Everything .. as I discovered the time line of the wave.. Jews have historically considered themselves “people of the book” (am hasefer in Hebrew), referring to sacred tomes, but the phrase is turning out to have an equally powerful, if unintended, meaning: scientists are able to read Jewish genomes like a history book. The latest DNA volume weighs in on the controversial, centuries-old (and now revived in a 2008 book) claim that European Jews are all the descendants of Khazars, a Turkic group of the north Caucasus who converted to Judaism in the late eighth and early ninth century. The DNA has spoken: no.


In the wake of studies in the 1990s that supported biblically based notions of a priestly caste descended from Aaron, brother of Moses, an ambitious new project to analyze genomes collected from Jewish volunteers has yielded its first discoveries. In a paper with the kind of catchy title you rarely see in science journals—“Abraham’s Children in the Genome Era”—scientists report that the Jews of the Diaspora share a set of telltale genetic markers, supporting the traditional belief that Jews scattered around the world have a common ancestry. But various Diaspora populations have their own distinct genetic signatures, shedding light on their origins and history. In addition to the age-old question of whether Jews are simply people who share a religion or are a distinct population, the scientific verdict is settling on the latter.



Although the origin of the Jews has been traced, archeologically, to the Middle East in the second millennium B.C.E., what happened next has been more opaque. To sort it out, researchers collected DNA from Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian, and Ashkenazi Jews around New York City; Turkish Sephardic Jews in Seattle; Greek Sephardic Jews in Thessaloniki and Athens; and Italian Jews in Rome as part of the Jewish HapMap Project. (All four grandparents of each participant had to have come from the same community.) As the scientists will report in the next issue of the American Journal of Human Genetics, the analysis shows that “each of the Jewish populations formed its own distinctive cluster, indicating the shared ancestry and relative genetic isolation of the members of each of those groups.”


Jewish populations, that is, have retained their genetic coherence just as they have retained their cultural and religious traditions, despite migrations from the Middle East into Europe, North Africa, and beyond over the centuries, says geneticist Harry Ostrer of NYU Langone Medical Center, who led the study. Each Diaspora group has distinctive genetic features “representative of each group’s genetic history,” he says, but each also “shares a set of common genetic threads” dating back to their common origin in the Middle East. “Each of the Jewish populations formed its own distinctive cluster, indicating the shared ancestry and relative genetic isolation of the members of each of those groups.”


The various Jewish groups were more related to each other than to non-Jews, as well. Within every Jewish group, individuals shared as much of their genome as two fourth or fifth cousins, with Italian, Syrian, Iranian, and Iraqi Jews the most inbred, in the sense that they married within the small, close-knit community. In general, the genetic similarity of any two groups was larger the closer they lived to one another, but there was an exception: Turkish and Italian Jews were most closely related genetically, but are quite separated geographically.


Historical records suggest that Iranian and Iraqi Jews date from communities that formed in Persia and Babylon, respectively, in the fourth to sixth centuries B.C.E., and the DNA confirms that. The genetic signatures of these groups show that they remained relatively isolated—inbred—for some 3,000 years. The DNA also reveals that these Middle Eastern Jews diverged from the ancestors of today’s European Jews about 100 to 150 generations ago, or sometime during the first millennium B.C.E.


That’s when the Jewish communities in Italy, the Balkans, and North Africa originated, from Jews who migrated or were expelled from Palestine and from people who converted to Judaism during Hellenic times. During that period Jews proselytized with an effectiveness that would put today’s Mormons to shame: at the height of the Roman Empire, as the Roman historian Josephus chronicled, mass conversions produced 6 million practicing Jews, or 10 percent of the population of the Roman Empire. The conversions brought in DNA that had not been part of the original gene pool in the land of Abraham.


The DNA analysis undermines the claim that most of today’s Jews, particularly the Ashkenazi, are the direct lineal descendants of converted Khazars—which has angered many in the Jewish community as an implicit attack on the Jews’ claim to the land of Israel, since it implies that today’s Jews have no blood ties to the original Jews of the Middle East. Instead, find the scientists, at most there was “limited admixture with local populations, including Khazars and Slavs ... during the 1,000-year (second millennium) history of the European Jews.”


Of the non-Jewish Europeans, northern Italians were most genetically similar to the Jews, followed by the Sardinians and French. The Druze, Bedouins, and Palestinians were closest to the Iranian, Iraqi, and Syrian Jews. That is evidence of “a shared genetic history of related Middle Eastern and non-Semitic Mediterranean ancestors who chose different religious and tribal affiliations.” Adds Ostrer, “the study supports the idea of a Jewish people linked by a shared genetic history. Yet the admixture with European people explains why so many European and Syrian Jews have blue eyes and blond hair.”


Southern Europeans were the closest genetic cousins of Ashkenazi, Sephardic, and Italian Jews, reflecting the large-scale conversion of these Southern European populations to Judaism some 2,000 years ago, when European Jewry was forming. The Sephardic groups share genetic makers with North Africans, probably a result of marriages between Moors and Jews in Spain from 711 to 1492.


Several details of the Ashkenazi genome imply that centuries ago, the population experienced a severe bottleneck, in which the size of a group plummets, followed by a rapid expansion. That jibes with the historical record showing that the Jewish population in Western and Eastern Europe bottomed out at about 50,000 in the Middle Ages and then soared to 500,000 by the 19th century, growing at twice the rate of non-Jews—something called “the demographic miracle.”


Analysis of Jewish genomes has been yielding fascinating findings for more than a decade. People should be more critical when they read these theories, like, checking if the source is reputable. . The guy who promoted these theories was a known debaucher, who himself was a mega liberal (indicating a lack of moral integrity) who later on likfe was accused of being a serial rapist.

Also, this might sound strange, but climate plays a big part in skin color. The more northern a climate you live in, and the less exposed to the sun you become, your pigment actually lightens.. Allow this 40 some odd generations and you can go from a dark arab color to a pasty white, and also add the possibility of gentiles interbreeding into Judaism, who could be white with blond hair and blue eyes (keep in mind Ruth was a convert - and the messiah, david, came from her) and thus you produce a more northern european looking person.

But beyond that. There are many many jews, from both the ashkenazi and Sefardic roots, who look like they could come from the middle east. curly hair, mullato skin color etc... Whats so threatening about judaism for you consider it Gog and Magog?? I dont think you know enough about Judaisms moral dimension, Kabbalah, Chassidut and mussar, to consider it as you said elucidated above. The Jews dont control the world, the gnostics do. The Roman pontiff, the aristocrats of europe. There is a well known story about the Battle In Heaven: Lucifer(My Father James, God's favorite angel, became prideful and decided to rebel against God. He formed a large group of angels under his command who then attacked the angels who remained loyal to God, these loyal angels were led by St. Michael the Archangel(My Brother John). After much fighting the loyal angels are victorious and Lucifier (Satan) and his disloyal angels (Demons) are cast into Hell. However, nowhere in the Bible is this story, or anything like it, told. So, from where does this famous story come from?

The Cohenim might be genuine, but they have no lots in the Land, as was the will of God, as expressed in the Law. See map below (terrible quality, I know) to see the borders of Judah as it was given by lots in the book of Joshua....

you should know than that todays Jews are more than simply Yehudi, but Benjaminites aswell - the holy temple was in judah, as also the ancient kingdom of Judah included the territories of Judah, Benjamin and Shimeon.

If someone wants to convertt, hes allowed, but hes also rigorously tested to see if hes truly sincere about it. Why would Khazars, who didnt seek Toprah or Judaism but merely embraced Judaism by state decree, all of a sudden defend Judaism throughout the middle ages and on? Their souls were not very attached to torah, by the sheer fact it wasnt them, and their own initiative which took it upon themselves. the yoke of Torah was forced upon them, and thus, its likely that they later rejected Judaism to embrace christianity, or return to their native pagan practices. The longevity of the Jewish people has to do with the longevity and eternity of the Torah they follow. Its G-ds instruction (torah) to mankind, to the Jewish people, on how to become G-d 'treasured' people. All people are treasured to G-d, but those who accept upon themselves such a difficult regiment, like torah, and Judaism, they become more important in the context of their position and influence in this world.

The great Rabbi Akiba was brutally murdered in a public display, with his flesh being raked off. 9 other of Judaism rabbinic leaders were also brutally murdered.

Jews have a long history, and again, forget about what you think you know about their direct lineage between now and their days in the time of the temple. They have YEARNED throughout. Go look it up. Every rabbinic work from the exil till now mentions a passionate plea to g-d to return to Israel. every work finished on that note. How can you be so indifferent or antipathetic to this group? I might be rather Darwinistic when it comes to Jews and the Land, for it really means a lot to me. My personal opinion is that a nation cannot be sustained and even less established unless there are demographic factors saying these people is a people and therefore they deserve a nation. Faith and religion is not enough to establish a nation thus forcing the indigenous people who has lived there since God knows when, out of their homes. If the Torah is a good law, then why are the Jews of the Israeli nation so evil? As if they were interpreting prophecies as laws? Ie. when God says to Israel that they will enter the Promised Land and kill many people, not sparing children or cattle even, that was said as prophecy, but Israel as they have always done, turned it into law. Look at the Babylonian Talmud and the school of Hillel (or was it Heylel Son of the Morning?) for instance. They then could keep their land, or, in other cases, be displaced and go somewhere else. That root appears only once in isaiah where it carries the connotation 'to shine'. The root halel appears hundreds if not thousands of times in the tanakh where it means 'to praise'.

You believe the purpose in life lies in not respecting and honoring G-d, being good because hes given us the power of choice to do it, but rather, imitating G-d means exercising his degree of independence. Therefore, G-d gives you a command and were meant to disobey it. This was the logic the snake through at Eve. Instead of realizing that G-d created a being with the power to choose so he could imitate his creator by choosing GOOD, and thus realizing the inherent superiority of good over evil he did the complete opposite, both intuitively and logically.

Gnosticism is ancient. Its the very battle between Good and evil, Jacob vs Esau, and the philosophy of amalek and the builders of Bavel, and indeed the builders ie; aristocrats, religious leaders (in every religion except judaism)industrialists, politicians of today. Masonry is based primarely on this ideology, even though they dont enforce any ideology on its members. Later on the longer one is apart of it theyre nudged in the direction of gnosticism.

Saten has never done me anything wrong, and in my opinion, the way religious fanatics attribute all evil they observe as beeing Satan's doing, well, they can also go and wash themselves. I have never seen anyone being able to point at one single thing which Satan has done which is "un-kosher".

It amazes me how you can even talk of Hebrew, yet admittedly have a 'very limited' understanding of it.

Theres a reason why modern researchers have been able to verify a certain language, like old Hebrew, as equivalent to an extant language, like assyrian Hebrew (modern hebrew is the corruption spoken in israel today). Theres a correspondence between words. Yes, characters have changed, as we can see in older Hebrew scripts. While the 10 vowel points have historically been transmitted orally as opposed to be put into writing it the masoretic scroll (to make it difficult for gnostics like you to read) but theres a perfect relationship between old hebrew and modern. This is how modern readers of Hebrew are even able to read the dead sea scrolls for instance. I have actually seen the dead scrolls and the old hebrew matchs the new. Just a different script. I dont even know where you get off telling me, a person who can read both hebrew and aramaic, that 'modern' assyrian script Hebrew isnt the same as the more ancient, without even explaining how that is. You just make statements, essentially based on nothing. Are you seriously that clueless? You do realize prior to 1008 the Jews were still Jews who possessed the Hebrew Torah, right? They were called 'the people of the book' by surrounding populations, lime saracens. You know the mishna? redacted in 200 CE, in a unique form of Hebrew, called 'mishanic hebrew'? Just so you know, again, i dont like these slurs of yours that says 'Jews consider blacks subhuman'. There are many black orthodox Jews, chassidic, who i consider brothers. Judaism is not racial, or ethnic, but religious. any human being can become a Jew. Not just that, every non Jew is beckoned by Jewish law, in Pirkei Avot, Talmud, to be treated with love and respect. All of G-d creations should be treated with love and respect. This is Judaism.
