Not just Republicans and so you shouldn't try to put that slant on this news.

The opposition to the obama administration's treatment of Israel is bi-partisan.

article

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration's fierce denunciation of Israel last week has ignited a firestorm in Congress and among powerful pro-Israel interest groups who say the criticism of America's top Mideast ally was misplaced.

Since the controversy erupted, a bipartisan parade of influential lawmakers and interest groups has taken aim at the administration's decision to publicly condemn Israel for its announcement of new Jewish housing in east Jerusalem while Vice President Joe Biden was visiting on Tuesday and then openly vent bitter frustration on Friday.

No matter how much the Israelis concede to the Palestinians, they will never (probably ever) concede that Israel has even a right to exist.

I appreciate Obama's wish to facilitate the peace process by asking Israel not to deliberately provoke the Arabs, as they are doing. Israel needs to show good faith, but then so do the Palestinians.

Overall I tend (well, shut my mouth) to agree with the Republicans on this.

I am also astonished.

"No matter how much the Israelis concede to the Palestinians, they will never (probably ever) concede that Israel has even a right to exist."

Nor will Iran. Israel's position is precarious and tactically inferior. Strategically Israel has no choice but to control the Golan Heights in the North against Hezbollah attacks (equipped and backed by Iran). The West Bank, east Jerusalem, and the Gaza strip not only unify the hegemony of Israel geographically but currently act as bases for attacks by Hamas(also backed and armed by Iran) and force Israel to commit forces urgently needed elsewhere. Israel knows that the Pals will never quit fighting and know that their existence as a Nation is put into more and more jeopardy as both Hamas, and Hezbollah, increase their armament and numbers. Israel has no alternative but to finally force the Pal civilians out, and then deal with Hamas in what Israel knows will be a bloody and fierce action. Israel also knows that it will again have to deal with Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon. (Most likely around the same time)
With all this already on its plate, now, because the current and previous administrations were to dumb and inept to do what needed to be done; Israel must deal with Iran and its nuclear aspirations.
If I were Israel, I would be building as fast as I could in Jerusalem, sealing the borders to Gaza and the west bank, doing all I could to force the civilians out, all the while gearing up for a massive coordinated military action against Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas, all at the same time.
Time has run out folks, Israel has been backed into a corner, and will fight that way. Its time the US stop condemning Israel and start helping them.

oh pleasee
Israel has no choice Israel has no choice bla bla bla

Ya Israel has no choice but to make it's enemies hate it more
Israel has no choice but to create an apartheid on people so hungry that eat grass
Israel has no choice but to use White phosphorus causing deaths and even today birth defects

The country with a massive stockpile has no choice but to to consider hungry people surrounded by U.S. financed sniper robots all around the gaza wall with nothing but cheap rockets with horrible accuracy as it's biggest threat ever.

sureeeeeeeeeeee

Israel has no choice
of course they don't, they are the chosen ones

Israel's enemies already hate more that enough. As for starving the people, Israel has told them time and time again that they are free to leave anytime they wish. People who abet the terrorist, who will allow terrorist to hide in their communities, using the populace as a shield against attacks, that will allow their children to become suicide bombers that strap on explosives and go out with the sole intent to kill Israeli women and children, have no one to blame but themselves. Israel needs to burn the grass they eat, tear down the midden heap that has been erected and put an end to this farce that has been touted as a peace process. Its time the US learned a lesson that Israel has learned the hard way. You do not try to negotiate with people or nations that are trying to destroy you. It isn’t might makes right, its might for right.
