I dunno....that we have two stations showing it....the rest are okay and I can't pull up the other stations to take a look (they wont load for me) it is hard to say. Most likely techincal difficulties. lots of action going on in Northern Oregon though. Lots of small quakes around our area today:

MAP 1.8 2011/11/09 04:09:52 47.379 -122.795 24.4 3 km ( 2 mi) ENE of Allyn-Grapeview, WA

When I saw the Mt. Hood area quakes you listed, westcoast, I thought, "Oh no, not another volcano getting antsy."
So I looked at the locations on the quakes on the google maps
Mt. Hood area earthquakes A & B

And then I found this site showing current road and bridge construction (summer 2010 thru fall 2012) in the very same place.
Map of construction area

So, those 2 shakers are probable nothing to worry about.

Is there road works at Camp Sherman?

Because the webi is looking very pretty right now (UT 7:00 Sunday)

June Lake looks a bit busy too. It looks like crappy weather there.

Not much happening at the other stations.

It has been stormy here the past few days...quite a bit of wind. Also, I have noticed the microseisms getting pretty big, so I think that adds to the webis looking a little wierd.

Heads up neighbors....

My little dog is shaking more right now than I have ever seen her. No other sounds going on. She came and sat on my feet, started shaking and is looking around like she hears something that terrifies her.

For the past couple of months, her alerting has been not so.......clear. This time though, I will be very surprised if we don't get a quake.

I am thinking, based on the past, that there may be a 2+ quake less than 20 miles from me. I am thinking perhaps even in the 3+ range. She is jerking now...if this gets any worse I may have to take her to the vet. Going to try and calm her down.......

She's calmed down now (after being wrapped in a blanked, rocked and sang to.
)

I'm trying to watch the webis, but it's a bit hard since the PNSN stations seem to be down! Ugh....

In the past it is has been whithin 2-6 hours of her symptoms, not right away.

Could it have been that 5.3 in Japan. Maybe she felt the wave?

I don't think so. Typically, she only reacts to local quakes.

I think it may possibly be this one:

It was about 60 miles from my house...so normally I would say this wasn't it, except for that it is listed at 0km depth. It hasn't been reviewed yet so I am guessing it might change but it'll probably still be very shallow. Perhpas that is why she sensed it? Or maybe it was nothing altogether...but she sure was scared!

Any idea what causes quakes at 0km depth? Surely that is something like mine shaft collapses, etc as it is so shallow?

As an aside, how does the singing work for soothing? If i sing at people / animals, the results are not pretty!

LOL....

Well. It still has not been reviewed, so it's depth still sits at 0km. It is a bit unusual to see this, that is why I expect it to get moved to 1-5 km depth. Still shallow for the region. We usually see it around 20-30 on the fault in that area.

I don't think it was a blast, or somethng collapsing, just a shallow quake.

As to my singing. Well. I think it is a matter of perspective. My kids always tell me to be quiet when I sing....the dog? She seems to rather enjoy it, so I base my talent on HER opinion.

Huh...why do quakes always have to happen when you are asleep???

I knew I could count on my friends to keep things up-to-date! Thank you!

Nope, didn't feel it. It was actually 120 miles to my East with a mountain range in-between me and it. My quake alert on my phone went off right after I got up (its always a bit behind). I threw up a silent prayer when I went to look that it wasn't Oklahoma!!

Not a very active area. I'm curious as to the source of it.

ETA: Here is a fun one. Seismo from Mount Baker I always dislike it when large volcanos are close enough to moderate sized quakes to register them that well!!!!

That's a lovely photo westcoast. Thanks for sharing.

I was just looking at a few of the webicorders for Rainier, and need your expertise--does the mountain look a little "grumbly" to you?
Particularly at 17:14 and 17:56 UTC today, on Camp Muir, Camp Sherman and St. Andrews.

Yikes...what I see at Rainier are a WHOLE lotta itty bitty quakes. I am guessing ice quakes, perhaps.

Looks like there was a 2.0 or so quake at Helens during the night..not listed yet.

The weather has been absolutely horrible the past couple of days. Pouring rain in the lowlands, snow in the mountains and WINDY!!!!

I expect the webis to be a mess right now...we'll keep an eye on it though!

Hmmm...hope this isn't a precursor. Several people close to me have felt a bit off the past few days.

Hey westcoast, I was wondering if you had taken a look at yesterdays ETS map?

It isn't an overwhelming number of epicenters or duration, but I haven't seen it so evenly spread out before, over just one day. Have you?
The most recent epicenters on the map are near Portland, where a mag 1.8 occurred this morning. Do you think there is a connection? I'm really trying to decipher if there is any correlation between the ETS and quakes. Anyway, would love to read your take (and everyone elses).
