Why can we all allow such tragedies to happen It makes me sick. I want to share something that I am reminded about when I read this. As a marine I was
deployed to Ramadi years ago as an infantryman on patrol my squad and I came across a family a mother with 6 children she had a bad heart and was
clearly in need of medical attention her husband was killed by an IED and she said that she had a heart doctor that fled because he was afraid he
might have to work with the local terrorist factions and their were no more Iraqi heart doctors in ramadi and she didnt have the means to get to
Baghdad or leave the country. Needless to say we wanted to help her but didnt have the means to but we continued to patrol her neighborhood until one
day we stopped by and there she was sprawled out on the roof dead with her littlest daughter and older son trying to wake her up and I ccould only
think of the overwhelming reality that the children of all these wars our future are irreperably damaged and there is nothing I can do to fix the
world this is the true tragedy

I was in tears a good few times during the programme last night. The little boy dying of advanced leukaemia was the worst. Why would no one grant him
the access to get the help he needed?
The little boys playing was scary. They were copying what they'd seen on the street, shooting each other, dropping bombs, even mock torturing each other. So sad that scenes like that are normal to them.
Then there was the boy whose uncle owned a fishing boat, which was destroyed by an Israeli gun ship just 2 miles from the coast. His uncle in tears because his livelihood is now destroyed. The agreement is that Palestinians can fish up to 20 miles off the coast, but since the blockade began any boat more than a couple of miles out is immediately fired upon for no reason.
The only Israeli's these kids ever see is the ones that drop bombs and shoot at them. One girl mentioned she was scared to go to Israel for treatment in case they killed her. She has previously watched her 9 year old brother being shot in the stomach, then shot in the eye to finish him off.
The documentary was well done and did not blame or take sides. It simply showed these children's lives for what they are. Broken and full of bloodshed, fear and hate. It left you to make your own conclusions.
The little boy who wanted to join the resistance. I could see why. He wanted to be free. He witnessed his father being gunned down on his doorstep for no reason. He wanted the wall gone, he wanted the oppression to stop, and he wanted revenge. His friends wanted to be doctors or engineers. In Gaza that is not going to happen. The only way for some of these kids to feel like they are making a difference is to blow themselves up and take a few of the enemy with them
They don't understand the politics, the reason why this is happening, why they are being punished for something they did not do. They only understand that they want it to stop and no one is helping them.
Stop the blockade! Save the children! Do whatever you can to help!
