I ask a question of all Americans on ATS.
I ask a question of both those who believe and those who do not believe the OS from Washington.

If tommorow Obama came on TV and promised a new, full investigation of 9/11 and after the investigation the conclusion was that the whole incident was pre-planned by certian government agencies or people within the government for personal gain, and that the war on terror was a lie, and that thousands of Americas finest had died wihout need, how would America cope with waking up to the fact that its own government had spent ten years filling the TV and the MSM with untruths and lies.

Could or would America ever trust those voted by them again.
How would the average man in the street act, the man who blindly believes Washinton,a man who all his life has put his trust in those he voted for.

Would the truth destroy America ?.

Would America ever recover from the blow ?.

Would the U.S change forever, its shattered innocence never to be recovered.

Maybe finding out the truth would open Pandoras box for the U.S, and unleash a chain of events that would change the face of a grand nation forever.

I´d like your thoughts please...no trolls, no crap...just thoughts ..thanks.

If he came on tv and said a new investigation we would have to see who is on the list..

The last list of people weren't so unbiased if you know what I mean.. Henry Kissinger, come on man.. he was like the worst player in American politics to date..

So it would have to go on who was doing the investigating i guess..

What they should do is put a bunch of credible people from both camps and come to a conclusion.

As it stands right now, people DO NOT trust their Gov, not all of it is 911 related.

That the majority dont trust the government, that i dont know, i cant comment..but the 9/11 issue is the weak link in the house of cards on which Washington is now built.

The war is costly, and has left the country on the road to ruin.
Many of the countrys issues and domestic and foreign policies are tied directly to 9/11.
If one day the 9/11 card falls, will the house come tumbling down ?

Why should we trust those who work for us, and lie to us, and send our finest into harms way for greed and lies and political gain? If we rid ourselves of the criminals working for us, and severly punish those who have harmed us, then the next batch of politicians and military leaders and intelligence agency employees and law enforcement officers, will learn that it is very stupid and very dangerous, to mess with the American people.

No, it is lies and greed which are destroying America already. Under our jury system, we seek justice and protect the innocent from wrongs, and render compensation to the victims, and punishment to the guilty.

The 9-11 victims have received NO justice.

The 9-11 perps have received NO punishment.

The American people have received NO closure.

Would America ever recover from the blow ?.

Maybe not, but if we do not seek justice, and do not severely punish those who have attacked us and murdered our own, then we do not deserve to recover.

I would trust the one whom called forth the investigation. I would want a list of people whom were knowingly involved in the coverup and depending on how deep their involvement, charged accordingly, from simple fines for bit players and silencers, to treason charges for architects.

ATS would probably get a increase in traffic. Some would feel dishearted, but I imagine the government would be sending out daily messages of how the government was corrupt but is now opening up as evidence by the new 9/11 investigation and the full ugly facts released.

I think the truth would alter America...the initial chaos would prove positive though, it would force our government to be transparent...as some suggest, the cameras would turn from focused on the citizens to focused on the government...and the media would perhaps become more involved in investigating conspiracys verses just laughing at any and all conspiracys.

If by recover you mean go back to being a Master/slave relationship between the government and the people, than I can only say...hopefully not.

innocence we never had...ignorance however seems to be the staplemark...again, lets hope it changes forever and the ignorance is shattered.

Thats sort of the point, because the path we are on now and have been on for the past...50+ years is just more and more secrets, more consolidation of power, and less truth to the people. Pandora's box needs to be opened, people need to be awakened so we can move forward. You cannot cut out the cancer in a body without first acknowledging that the cancer is there.

Im not american so i hope you dont mind me adding my voice here.

There is a wider picture, yes america might implode, it might go through some really bad times and then rebuild. It might arrest all involved and put them on trial.

Im thinking about how the rest of the world would react.

If it was found to be an inside job, i know that whatever problems are faced with the middle east and the usa, would go super nova. maybe even to the point of the middle east and iran joining together.

Even if all they did was to shut off the oil to the us, which countries would speak out against that move. For fear of a backlash.

If the us goverment admitted it was an inside job, i dread to think what the worlds reaction would be.

military agreements---gone

Major civil unrest world wide and any country with a greivance against the us joining together, and other country's to scared might join, or keep silent. There are a lot of people from the middle east who live in other country's. Who are law abiding and dont hate anyone, but even this might change.

Could end up with a nightmare scenario.

This might not happen, just my thoughts.

Its a moral issue. If those that committed the crimes on 9-11 do not get punished what message are we going to send? Its ok for top criminals to kill for x/y/z reasons but if a poor black robs a 7-11 convience store its not? Its ok for the Federal Reserve to rob americans blind because of its immense power but for lesser criminals such as berny madoff its not ok?

Its ok for bush/cheney/blair to invade foreign countries on false pretenses, for nato to expand into the former soviet block, to make north korea and cuba APPEAR evil just because they are communist? To keep intentionally confusing socialism with communism?

What exactly constitutes freedom, justice and liberty FOR ALL?

If the democrats were as honest as they like to pretend then (1)WHY did they support the war effort in the middle east and (2)WHY didn't they move to impeach bush/cheney during those 8 years? The republicans had NO PROBLEM impeaching clinton a few years earlier...

I and many people are getting sick of such twisted logic. Either the rules apply to everyone or they apply to none. The constitution and declaration of independence had meaning, so please congress and president do not make toilet paper out of it!

We would be able to recover. Its crazy to think we wouldn't. We knew forever that government lies. We just got lazy in our judgment for a few decades. That and everyone wanted in on the deal of making money. As long as we were doing alright economically, we woulda let them have our children.

If TBTB are caught to have instigated a crime of the proportions of 9/11, the aftermath would change the face of the nation. All those ugly crimes covered up in the past, would no longer be protected by the knockout argument “national security”.

The real culprits must get punished for their treasonous deeds. This is not only a question of justice. Punishment now is of uttermost importance if we want accountability in the future. A row of hanged and imprisoned predecessors will make the next generation of decision-makers more cautious. Many people would never believe a government narrative again, without having conducted their own investigation. No false-flag attack would be possible in the future.

The TBTB got away with this crime. They will become bolder and bolder in the future. Just look how they managed the banking crisis.

When I started researching the truth I felt dumbstruck. I couldn't sleep for nights. But compared to the alternative this a small price to pay. I don't want to live in an Orwellian future.

Dont confuse ignorance with blind faith.
There are MILLIONS who still believe unfalteringly that the government would NEVER lie to them.
Many citizens of the US were born in a dfferent era, the 40s and the 50s, when the threat then was communism in Korea and later Vietnam, and even in Hollywood.
For these people the government would never lie, its just now there fighting arabs and not commies.
They still believe in the Ghettysburg address when it says "A government of the people for the people and by the people"

One of the reasons the roman catholic church gets so much negative publicity is because they cover-up all the scandals. This goes against the teachings of christ and god yet they figure "if we keep burying the # no one will ever smell it". Wrong mentality because in reality they are accomplishing the very opposite: If church is willing to turn a blind eye to all the pedophiles and not punish them, then obviously the church itself is the problem.

The same goes with 9-11 and all other "national security" crimes. National Security should be called national insecurity because many times it is being used for the wrong reasons. Who gets to decide what constitutes national security and under what justification? It seems some people don't answer to anyone.
