What is this "thing" inside Komarov crater?, page 1

I opened my google earth this morning just to confirm that Australia is still where it was yesterday.. It was

so for some reason i decided to take a look at the moon..

It seems that the japanese did quite a good job when filming the Komarov crater in HD. I just accidently found this formation from the bottom. Doesn't look natural to me.

The "thing" is aprox 70 meters wide, so it can't be old debris from soviet moon missions. Any idea what we are looking at?

Here are the co-ordinates: 24° 7'18.40"P 151°44'45.81"I

Looks like a certian male body part, sorry, but that is what it is shaped like!

Only it looks metalic.

That's interesting.

Here it is inverted >posturized > sharpened > invertered burn.

Those things look like spheres... not sure what this is.

I don't think google moon is the best source for this sorta thing.

Perhaps you could find a higher resolution image of the crater from the LRO mission or similar?

i think i found that area in another pic. it is interesting, to say the least.
what it is, i dunno. probably one of the more interesting pics i've seen of anomalies on the moon. will have a look see at a few more pics of it, just for fun

Hiya Undo, there was an image from the Moon that generated a short thread last year. It genuinely looked like a metallic/white craft in rugged terrain. The member who found it used it as his avatar. Even Phage was without explanation. Unfortunately, my bookmarks, images and archives of good stuff died in a hard drive crash last year.

If I find it, I plan to bump the thread...it's been bugging me for a couple of weeks now.

Whatever it is (to me at least) it looks like something with external lights that are ON !

Phew ! I was beginning to think it was just me that didn't get it ... I asked the very same question on a different thread.

I'm sure Phage is a really nice guy (?) ... his posts are usually very intelligent (if not a tad single-minded for my tastes) ... but this God-like, hero-worship he's got going on beats the bejeebuz out of me.

Come-on Phage, what the hell have you got on these people

my guess is either 'blackmail' ... but I'm pretty certain that would be against T&C

... or ... extended family members.

Sorry about the off-topic but I'm curious as hell to hear the answer !

Phage is a member who has generate d a good deal of respect for himself, with the knowledge he's presented and the good natured way he usually does.
There are a number of members of similar standing as his, spread across the forums.

To be honest, the image looks a good deal like lighter colored detritus is dropping down, like a spill.
Or it also may have something to do with wat looks to be a crater over towards the side there.

yup mate, nothing strange at all. the sprawling dark spot towrds the left quadrant looks like a regular stockpile so common in our quarry areas and the parallel straight lines which we do have for our conveyors and all those ordbslike top view could be overhead water tanks. maybe another angle or perspective will give a different view. There seems to be a lot of regular formations found in a mining facility here on earth. so nothing strange at all.the bigger picture please.

If there's another member that has his post and hit rate regarding NASA...I'm not aware of them. NGChunter and Armap are probably the closest. What you call 'worshipping,' I call respect where it's due.

For folks that resent his success...why not challenge his posts? His answers are nearly always right and backed up with links or checkable facts. I'll never understand how anyone can sulk over a guy earning respect for posting facts.

(ps. he isn't as good in the A&LC section!)
