Oops, they did it again! Bank of America wrongly seized a Pittsburgh home that it mistakenly targeted for foreclosure. This time, it took the parrot, too.

The bank released a public apology on Wednesday to Pittsburgh resident Angela Iannelli for wrongly seizing her home and snatching her beloved pet parrot last October, adding to a pool of similar incidents over the past seven months.

Bank of America LOVES to steal people's homes. In the same article it talks about how they have even been seizing homes that didn't even have mortgages on them!

You think you are secure in your home because you have no mortgage? It doesn't matter to Bank of America! They'll take your home anyway! And the courts have allowed them to do it!

"Bank of America -- without authorization and warning, and contrary to all laws in Pennsylvania -- broke into my client's home and left her an emotional wreck," Rosenzweig says. "This is no different than if her home was burglarized."

Oh I forgot to add that in this case, they didn't even use the courts. They just seized the home and ransacked it. The law does not apply to them.

The thing that shocks me, is that this story doesn't shock me.
THAT'S disturbing.

These banks have been going apes**t ever since receiving the "bail out" funds. It seems as though the "bail out" bill not only handed them massive amounts of taxpayer wealth, but ALSO encouraged them to terrorize us in any way they are able.

I can't even say how upset I am. This is terrorism, nothing less.

Kind of weird, it's as if a disaster struck and the only ones looting are the banks.

One of these days BofA is going to get someone shot.

If they did this in a castle law state and a homeowner came home and thought he had burglars and opened fire.

If i came home and found someone in my home they will get held at gun point and since my place never had a morgage.(owner built) them claiming that they were foreclosing would just get them more problems even if i had to go to the grand jury to get them arrested.

Well, in the case of foreclosure where the bank didn't even have a mortgage on the property, the people wouldn't have a right to be there in the first place. So I think there would be a claim to self-defense for sure there. However, the banks seem to know when no one would be home so far, so this is premeditated. The banks must be casing the homes before they pick them. If it were truly accidental, then the bank would be immediately making things right with the wronged party and taking steps to ensure it didn't happen again. The banks are not doing that.

I don't understand exactly how this happens.. it's almost comical that it does. I mean, if someone is foreclosing on your house, you would think to check to make sure it's your mortgage company? I don't know, maybe CALL your mortgage company and be like WTF is Bank of America doing? Guarantee THEY would stop BoA, as it's THEIR asset.

Assuming you did NOT have a mortgage.. I am sorry.. how the hell do you let a bank take your home? If I owned my home outright, and someone tried to kick me out against my wishes, it would be bullets flying and people screaming.

I am just amazed at how many people are rolling over and letting banks have their way with them. Stealing pets no less!

The banks have been stealing people's homes that do not even have mortgages. The people have been hiring attorneys and fighting it. There are a lot of dirty judges or something. Sometimes the people don't even know about it until after their home was already padlocked and had wiring, etc removed while they were away from their home that day. The family in this case wasn't even foreclosed on. The bank just came in and took it.

There's nothing comical about it. These people go through the homes, destroying things. There was another case recently where BoA went and destroyed the people's belongings. They lost photos, etc. There's nothing funny about that.

Can you say class action lawsuit. If that happens there is a good chance that the owner can not only sue for the mistake, but also for all of the damage. I think that the parrots owner needs to also put a lien against BOA for all of the damage as well as take out a class action law suit against them, asking for punative damages against them. A few multimillion lawsuits may get them to change the way they do things, especially if they are breaking the laws in the process.

Sounds half made up and sensationalized by someone with an agenda. I guess it's like the equivalent statistically of finding a needle in a haystack so to me it's more about making banks (BOA) "look bad". IMO just "filler" to read while on the toilet.

SnF for you Jessicamsa. More information like this is needed on ATS so that those who could be effected have a heads up.

I am no longer understand the country I left 26 years ago. When I served in the USArmy I thought I was protecting freedom. The freedom does not need to be protected on foreign soil it needs to be done on the homefront. I have no none censoured words to go in front of Bank of America but something needs to be done about them. After all Bankers all over the world has stolen movie with the help of politicans from the taxpayers and peoples retirement not to forget their investments. If the revolution comes people must remember when it comes to banks they have blood on their hands and stories like this one proves it.

Oh man, if they had done something like that to me, and took my cats, I'd be in jail shortly afterward for murder!!! err wait, there wouldn't be much left of me after I BLEW UP BIG TIME! Yeah, one day they are going to f'up and walk into a home where the people never answer their door and BANG BANG BANG! I never answer my door if I do not know the individual (everyone should have a webcam or two watching their doors and property). I don't even answer the phone unless I know who is calling. I don't even open snail mail or email that's from anyone I don't know.

Wow, the people that broke into this persons home should be charged with breaking and entering and trespassing and tossed into jail for a few years.
