TA-THREATS: France Raises Terror Level to Red

France has raised its security alert level to RED effective midnight 6/1. Many of the world's leaders will be at Normandy for the 60th anniversary of D-Day on June 6th.
Red is one step below the highest level on France's alert level. They have been at level Orange since the Madrid bombings on 3/11.

Expected to attend the ceremonies are President Bush, Russian President Vladimir Putin, the monarchs of Britain, Norway and the Netherlands, and Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder of Germany. This will be the first time a German leader attends the memorial ceremonies.

A no-fly zone has been implemented over the Normandy beaches, with orders to shoot down any aircraft that breach the no-fly zone on sight.

An estimated 4000 troops and 1000 additional police officers have been mobilized. The country plans to raise the alert level to scarlet - the highest - on June 4th when dignitaries begin arriving.

What a great TOO, but too bad that it would actually have little or not effect if they managed to kill the most powerful leaders in the world. They would simply be replaced and the war being raged against the Terrorists would only be expedited with great force and without mercy.

So I do not think the Terrorists will try and do anything at the D-Day memorial, just like they had no interest in attacking the WWII dedication.

Ask your self, what would it prove to attack a bunch of old Veterans ? Would you get sympathy from the Lay person ? Or would you anger an entire nation to fight against you even harder and support their Goverments actions regardless of the mistakes they may have made in their foriegn policy.

No I think when they attack it will be at the American People, the innocents, to cause fear and panic that no one is safe.

Apartment buildings, stadiums, shopping malls. Thats what I am expecting.

U.S. President George W. Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, The Queen, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, French President Jacques Chirac, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Are all going to be at a service together, aren't they? Along with various other lesser ministers and dignitaries from the same countries. They are more then a bunch of old Veterans. Them together, deserve high security.

Its ironic.

The villagers of the town will be allowed to celebrate the fall of fascism indoors, they will not be allowed outside to watch or attend the ceremonies!!!

When will Americans learn that Terrorism was around long before Bin and his friends started playing with bombs.9/11 wasn`t the start of mass terror attacks.this is not the first time world leaders have meet in one place at the same time.Reading this makes me believe that the terrorist are winning because you are all obsessed about it.Muslims have been against westerners especially Americans for years if bin so scarey to the point you are all taiking about wouldn`t he attack more oftern.

most terror attacks that can be linked to actual jihadist activity is usually confined to attacks on western interests in arab lands. these ysually seem to be less effective, organized, and of a much smaller scale than 9/11 or the madrid 3/11. those attacks suggest alot of planning, training, and in the case of 3/11 access to a heavily guarded train yard and large quantities of high grade explosives. the average jihadist is pretty lacking in these areas in my opinion and operates bmore on blind fury against crusaders and occupiers alike. the 11s more resemble patiently planned and professionaly executed acts by intelligence/special ops agents.

You are giving them too much credit. It doesn't take an Ace to get flight lessons, board a plane, and put down a crowd that doesn't know their fate.

Any "C" student with a textbook and a phone book can locate and process the ingredients of a very efficient device; Not just "household chemicals".

Speaking of "kaboom"... any joker with a class A license can pull an 18 wheeler into an oil refinery to carry out gas or carry in his own flamibles.

What if there had been 10 bulldozer guys in Colorado, working together and targeting police? (I really wish they had bull-dozers in GTA)

This doesn't have to be intelligence agents. It could be the trenchcoat mafia. (By the way, the bulldozer guys shall from now on be known as the Trench Coat Panzer Division). Seriously though, it's just not that difficult. We're lucky that there aren't more terorists in America (or maybe that they have a different mentality than crazy young americans).
