On the contrary, MRIs do not involve any ionizing radiation. They use powerful magnets, which are harmless to brain cells.

They expose you to a huge amount of power - but it is all magnetic - not electromagnetic.

Any damage it could cause would be quite distinct from radiation.

I'm not sure I have ever heard of it causing tumors or cancers of any kind..., but hey, we'll find out in 50 years....

Thanks for clearing that up for me, I was going my a flawed memory, it may be the CAT scan that has radiation.

Indeed. CAT scans deliver a much higher dose of radiation than a standard chest X-ray.
